I wish I could do this, I wouldn't care the cost. I can barely function without adequate sleep, forget people's names, forget many things without sleep... become retarded without it.

Used to work with an exceptionally talented curves/eurodollar trader that burned out in rather spectacular fashion at the top of his game, all sorts of bizarre health ailments. Most of us thought it was because he was emotionally handling too much size and never left his office. Could afford any health specialist/treatments he desired, low-mid 9-fig wealth by mid 40's. After all said and done, most blame came down to an undiagnosed sleep disorder he'd been dealing with since grad school. Caught up with him quicker due to nature of job. Teaches physics now at his daughters HS.

Back to California is burning/utopia...
It is all good. I have personally harpooned my share of threads. Good info though. Thanks!

Not to mention 26% tax on cars over $150,000 for us suckers who live in BC (this alone is enough for me to want to leave and never come back).

some ppl need more some needs less
I think overall I sleep 6-8 hours a day.
but at random time,
don't be surprised when I start snoring talking to someone. if they are boring, I sleep
I sleep through most my board mtgs....
I sleep when I get hair cut
I sleep when I go see dentist
I sleep waiting for my dentist
I can sleep standing up on BART or T
so most of the time when my active participation is not needed I just sleep.
but when I am needed, I can go couple days without sleep, at least when I was younger.

occasionally I get very tired and inadvertently fall asleep.
believe it or not, I have fell asleep on my bicycle and cow tipped over.. but that doesn't happen much

not sure why sleep has to do with CA life.

My dad was like that..
its why he made me drive at the age of 11, so he could sleep..
I tried but I’m one of the unfortunate ones that can only function for about 3 days without 7 hours sleep or less.
Only with 8 hours a day, I am OK. I can skip one night but if I skip two it’s game over.

Lifetime resident of SoCal here. I saved up my whole live to buy a GT car and now that I have it I can't get out of traffic and I dread next year's registration. Choose wisely.

If one lives say in IL and buys a second home in CA; do I have to register my car in CA or can I use my IL plates since I reside in IL??

this is not legal advice but I would argue and push for IL as your domicile/residence/where your cars are will be and should be registered to. I wouldn't expect any problems in your situation other than if you are buying a new car in the state of CA, and even then I would say you should be OK to title and register and do IL sales tax

Then again CA tax is just a monster and at this point I just bend over and ask them to be gentle, they have defeated me mostly

As long as you keep your primary residence in IL and don't spend enough time in CA for them to claim residence here, you'll be fine.
