Amazing skill. Would love to see how he managed his throttle application during that episode.

...and his brake application as well. All that concrete makes me nervous.

nice save. before the accident after shifting, why did he put his right hand on his lap instead of the wheel? at the end I thought he was gonna get collected when he drove to the track out spot and seemed to turn in a little too quick.
Great car control in a difficult spot.

Great car control in a difficult spot.
At Daytona where you are on the gas for a long period of time and the car basically turns itself on the 35 degree banking it is an easy way to relax yourself and not stay tense holding the wheel for 30 seconds or so. That is Cory’s way of being relaxed on the straights. Every driver has their own way to manage this at Daytona

He did an amazing job saving the car and keeping it pointed in the right direction when brakes and the balance of the car are working against you. He was a rockstar during this.

This was posted a while ago in the Racing and DE section. Yes, Cory is on RL. Fenomenal save!
For drivers that straddle the grip limit at all times — always making small adjustments over/under the limit — saves like these become a reflex and a second nature. The body (butt) senses the initial movement (the small slip angle change) and the hands correct before the event even gets registered in the driver’s mind.
