Production numbers for GT2 RS?
#107
Almost like fake news CNN when you read posts like this. You didn’t get your way, you couldn’t get an allocation and now you make up numbers and “facts” that are entirely unsupported. Just because a car isn’t numbered doesn’t mean it isn’t a future collectible or even just an amazing car. Whether it is 1000 or 4000, the car is not a “mass” produced car. Take a look back at the hundreds of thousands of Mustangs that were made and look at what the Shelby’s and Boss’s sell for now. The GT2rs is always going to be worth a lot of money. It isn’t a base Carrara or a cayenne. It’s a GTrs, it has major fun factor and will always carry a premium value over other cars. Stop complaining, stop making up BS numbers and buy something that makes you happy.
The GT2RS will be worth a lot of money? haha It'll be trading below MSRP this summer just like the GT3 and GT3RS because they are MASS PRODUCED cars. But hey, if you think the car is a some "limited production" unicorn then you more power to you. From my eyes, we've seen ADMs melt from $150k-$200k to basically MSRP today. Just because stealers are hoarding them asking for dumb ADMs doesn't mean that's what the cars are worth. I sure hope you and everyone else bought the car to enjoy and drive and not as an investment vehicle.
And yes, I'm sooooooooooooo jealous that I don't have one. hahahahaha

Martin, why the F do you care? You don't own one. The people who do, don't care what they are worth. If it goes to zero, it won't move most owners needle any. They are busy enjoying them. Enough man. Quit raining on other peoples parades.

Raining on people's parades is his stock in trade. Hey guys, if we all put him on the ignore list at the same time, he'd be all alone when he went on Rennlist. Oh.....that's right, he already is.

I'd wager that worldwide production is north of 4,000 units. Only the people who were delusional really believed that the car was going to be some kind of special, ultra limited production car. It's not, it's a mass produced car that will never be a collector car. You want a collectible car....get a 997 GT2RS, 997.2 4L, or a CGT.

Nope, I think Porsche sold more GT3RSs than GT2RSs....probably around 5,000+ world wide would be my guess. Obviously the higher the price point the lower the production numbers will be given there will be less buyers. Both are great cars and I'd own a GT2RS if not having gotten the turbo kick out of my system already. And for the record, the GT3RS is also trading around MSRP today and will be trading below MSRP by the summer.

Is there a breakdown on North America GT2RS production numbers by Color and options (like the one for the GT3s)?
Looking for U.S. total numbers of WP+Mg wheels (regardless of color)

Agree that they diminished the value for flippers but flooding the market with GT cars begins to make these cars commodities and that hurts everyone. I don't buy to flip but certainly like not seeing a ton of GT cars everywhere you go. I think this ultimately hurt the brand a bit. Think about what made the GT cars special. It was that there relatively few built and people wanted to own one. The flippers hurt the market, but Porsche flooding the market will have unintended consequences....I believe!
I hope it means that 991 gt3s will be very affordable on the future used market.

I read through this thread because I was thinking on buying a GT2 RS. Some great values out there especially in the used low mileage market. Seen some nice down movements lately as I wasn’t going to pay over MSRP for one. What’s the feeling more downward movement as inventory gets chewed up or continually slow down trend? Also a lot of reference to acronym “ADM”. Can someone tell me what that stands for?

Above Dealer Markup. Basically above MSRP. Personally, if I was buying a GT2RS today, the number would be $20-25k under MSRP.

Private sellers seem to be getting a little more realistic. This particular car has been listed since middle of last year. Started out in the high 300's; now $318 ask. That's well below MSRP for a 164mi car.

Chatter on new GT cars will continue to ramp up from here and there's nothing unique enough about these cars, unlike say a 997.2 3RS 4.0L, to make them collector items (at least for quite a few years). 992 GT cars will exceed current gen - performance, price, numbers - of that you can be sure.
None of the above takes away from the fact that it's an awesome car. Just don't kid yourself that they won't continue to depreciate.

Used inventory on Cars.com and Autotrader.com has sat at around 70 cars for months. Don't see that changing much until sellers (mostly dealers) get more realistic on pricing. Some are starting to but many cars have been sitting since middle of last year.

At least - slightly more for PTS cars in a desirable color, less for cars with low-spec builds or without Mg wheels.
