So all said and done, what's the consensus on what a fair price should be on .2 GT3s today? Definitely feels like it's turning more into a buyers market.

I was offered a fairly bloated build (185k+, random leather & alcantara upgrades, buckets, PCCB, manual) just this past week at MSRP and I passed.

My feeling is: ridiculous dealer builds ~180-190k msrp at 10 to 20k under MSRP (at least) and 150-160k honest builds around MSRP? Or should those also be a bit lower? Assuming de minimis miles (as all the flipper cars are).

"These cars will be cheaper in one to two years during recession" is a tough argument, it'll holds for pretty much any car with or without a recession so it'd make a tough car buying/enjoying strategy overall.

.
Search on line and call around, negotiate. Each car is different. online search engines - autotrader and cargurus are a good starting point for ASKING. Manheim is a good start for what dealers are paying wholesale. Shoot for somewhere in between. Used, one might pay more for an unmolested low mile car, less for a higher mile, tracked car.

I'd imagine that range would start for .1 RS around $160K, and $150K for a .2 GT3. That's what the dealers will probably pay for used inventory, but a private buyer could pay a bit more. Nicer and new cars could go for more than $200k.

i just picked up my order for 6k over. It was a 175k build. We started at 10 back in december and finished at 6 when I picked it up. A lot of arm twisting but I’m pretty sure they could have sold it for what I payed for it. I am super happy to get exactly my build. MSRP is pretty common now I think.

If I didn't have a GT4, I would have bought it. They are a bargain, but nobody is looking for a car like this! Limited market, to say the least. He started at $97k, ended up at $89k. What an incredible driving experience though!
Minus the gearing. Awful.

Why Porsche does this is beyond me.

Anyone fixed the gearing.... seems it would really wake the car up.

A dealer offered me $172K for my .2 GT3 with a $186K MSRP. $150K for a .2 GT3 sounds low...

They take 1.2 GT3s to Manheim? Why do they do that?!? Maybe if it's a particularly bad car with collision history?

Yes, that's the floor, avg mileage about 3000 miles, condition 4.8 avg out of 5. 6 months ago high $16x's was average, looks like they're falling about $2K a month. Remember, this is wholesale, not the private party or retail market.

The cars are being reported, and they're scored so you can get an idea of the quality of the car, but yeah, typical range $148 to $158K right now... . Might be the same people that pay ADM and trade their older cars. Perhaps the top 1/10th of the 1 percent, make thousands of dollars an hour, not worth it for them try to sell, easier, maybe cheaper to just flip and not look back on a few thousand $?

Porsche making almost as many .2 GT3 as the entire .1 GT3 run making depreciation curve steeper on .2's versus .1's albeit less than other Porsches...........

Not double, about 1000 more in NA over the 991.1

About 3100 vs 2100 units give or take. That's about 50% more, but more variety with the .2 with Touring and manual models. I think they did a good job with demand -1 not too many but enough to satisfy most. All of you looking for cheap .2's this is the time to buy before driving season and while owners that like the latest shiny objects flip theirs. GL with your search everyone. I'm keeping mine for a long time. You will get another shot next year at this time, but you will go a year without, but maybe save 10 or 20K.

yes, but have you noticed it’s 2019. .

This cycle rinses and repeats every time without fail. Scarcity (but only initially and everyone thinking they are collectors items) and ADMs followed by lots of cars produced and then the next one on the horizon. Flippers initially make $$ and people who can’t afford them, somehow afford them because there’s no depreciation..

So now it’s MSRP at best. And flippers are long gone and those that can’t afford them are gone or defaulting. And soon we’ll have the 992’s with ADM’s.. and the 991.2’s will be under and significantly under like the .1’s are right now. all cars depreciate. GT’s a little less so than regular Porsche’s.

Porsche will make more so that the flippers are less omnipresent and less in control of the market. But they won’t make enough. Just a smidge under demand so that values and desires stay high. Just like a Rolex Daytona SS. YMMV

Good synopsis....if you want a 991 GT3 you can always get one, plenty on the market and prices will be less than MSRP on CPO cars if you time it right and low miles because about 90% of them are under 5,000 miles....991.1 or 991.2...

We are well past “demand minus one” with the 991.2 GT3 at this point.

In my opinion there is big difference between a used car and speccing your own custom car from day one. More so then Rolex. I happily paid adm on my .2 RS to create my own custom car, I certainly can’t compare that to a car on the lot. With that said just this weekend I was put on “the list” for the new GMT2 and if I can get one In the next few months for 10% ADM much less msrp I’ll consider myself lucky. Buyers of used Porsche’s and or Rolex’s are generally not the same buyers that go to these dealers at release and say “ok” to the first allocation.
