Remember about a year ago when the market was flooded with used GT4 and people thought those would be in the tanker, well they are still doing great with a very shallow depreciation curve (if any). Once the first year of flipping is over the market will flatline and surplus will diminish.
If you want to own and drive a GT car do it with a smile, what happens in value should be justified by the automotive vacation it provides. Win, loose or draw.
Smiles per mile guys!

Going forward with the new GT4 and 992 GT3, buyers of new GT cars will think twice if they're only buying to flip. Hopefully this latest trend clears out the flippers and only buyers that indent to keep their cars are ordering new ones.

ehhhh not true, there are a lot of GT4's listed at dreamer pricing. I've been helping a few buddies in SoCal acquire GT4's and we're seeing fantastic prices out there. $110k MSRP cars with all the right options, clear film, great shape, under 10k miles for low 90's. The higher MSRP cars are taking a beating while the lower option cars not as much. Right now you shouldn't be spending over $95k for a clean GT4 with low miles. Also the 991.1 GT3's values are dropping just as fast at the GT4's with all the 991.2 GT3's for sale. It's about time that Porsche's supply of GT cars have met the demand.

The GT4's a year ago were holding strong at MSRP but in the past year the bottom dropped out. The GT4's (2016) is starting to show a similar depreciation curve to the 991.1 GT3's. With many of the 991.2 GT3's getting to be a year old, the depreciation should set in, they should NOT be selling for at or more than MSRP.

With the current period production volumes of all GT cars, and likely even higher factory planning for 992 generation, expect non-differentiated depreciations of almost all Porsche GT cars from other makes. Yes, it also affects 4.0 RS and CGT too which is happening. Second markets of 911 R has already crashed (from a higher level) according to Total 911 which I agree. Air cooled is to be affected too, to slightly better insulation. Like real estates and security markets all parts are interconnected.
I'd buy 997 GT3's but not necessarily RS versions if speculation is not the objective.

Ever see what happens to a Mercedes S-Class!

The 2016 Spyders are still the sleepers only 5 less HP than the GT4, and only 800 in the US. They still trade at MSRP after 4 years or slightly under. Sold mine for the RS, and didn’t want to move the 458 Spider too many smiles at start up. No regrets the Spyder is a damn good car for what it does, and less than 2900 lbs good car to drive hard.
