True.. But the point here is that Porsche tea bagged the GT3 community with this move.. For the better.

Thank you flippers for pushing Porsche into this move.. More GT3's for everybody.

Problem is dealers are still trying to create artificial scarcity. I sat on a waiting list for 18 months before being told there wouldn't be enough cars made...which obviously is not the case.

I'm something like #17 on the 992 GT3 list at my dealer and I'm wondering if I'll get an allocation.

One thing that I know for sure is that Porsche will build more 992.1 GT3s than 991.2 GT3s and the price will be higher.

I'm on the 992 GT3 list and GT4 list to maximize my chances. Although this whole experience has taught me if you can't get it at MSRP don't bother!

Do you think it has to do with the other options that are out there like the 570S/AMG GTR/Huracan/

MSRP is my line in the sand as well. My dealer is purportedly a MSRP dealer for GT3's.

I think the reason for so few GTS is that the 991.2 GTS only came in PDK (the 991.1 GTS had a manual option...and is coincidentally one of the best buys out there). So its possible that quite a few GTS customers gravitated to the .2 GT3 MT in hopes of retaining the joy of the MT but the two cars drive and feel quite different! Why pick up a 991.2 GT3 when the 992 GT3 is just around the corner and sure to be a BEAST!!

The 718 GT4 will likely get either the 981 3.8L motor with the X51 cam package or the 981 3.8L stroked to 4.0. Rumors have the car making ~430hp and obviously won't have a 9k RPM redline like the GT3. Regardless it will be a fantastic car but Porsche won't allow it to get close to the GT3.

I'm sure Dundon will help close the gap for a lot less than a GT3 engine.

You should be fine based on all the hatred in the 992 design threads. Everyone hates them “allegedly”. Just kidding. All those haters will be the first ones in line to get the new latest and greatest. I just hope all the flippers, many of them here, learned their lesson and stop sucking up all the allocations and those of us that actually want to build to keep and drive can get one.

That's true, my GT4 with the GT3 throttle body, plenum, dundon headers, and a tune is roughly ~445 at the crank. At the same time, if you put Dundon's on a 991.1/2 GT3, you'll get massive gains too

They'll claim a 900HP increase with their exhaust setup. No verifiable dynos. No other exhaust company will get close. And all the fanboys will buy.
