Sold for $155k

I had a feeling for awhile that the GT3 market is artificially inflated (far too much supply) Will be watching the prices in the next few months.

It had a reserve.

You could also look at it as being bought pretty dang close to MSRP if you ignore the ridiculous paint price that people fall all over themselves to flip. Hopefully this is evidence that the ridiculous PTS obsession is waning.

I've never understood people getting huffy over this. If people are worried about their investments taking a hit too close to retirement, perhaps they should reexamine their asset allocation and risk tolerance?

This is great. Can we all just agree that a GT3 is a great trim level of a massed produced sports car, stop worrying about investment value, paying ADMs, agonizing over PTS availability and start enjoying the car? We keep forgetting that these are some of the greatest engines ever made, paired with the best transmissions on the market, bolted up to the best sports car platform ever designed in a track ready car that can also be a daily driver. Lets spend more time on those topics.

Exactly. This is why I am very happy with my 2015 GT3. 10 year warranty and I actually like that its not as fast as my RS or the updated .2 versions. I do most of my driving on the road

They're awesome and I love them but they give up a lot in every day livability. That, more often than not is why they change hands with the frequency they do. The flippers game is for the most part is over for the 991.2.
Totally agree with this statement about usability versus the dream of doing it........................... along with Porsche selling a higher than anticipated amount in the US of 2018 GT3 regular (2100 plus) and tourings (close to 750).

Also some people realized they were not going to track an almost 170-200K GT3, once they got into the details. Let the RS guys do that that may have more disposable income.

Another factor was the good relative value holding of the car over several years and hoping it was the last NA and manual for speculative purposes, but appears the 992 will have that covered and people let go of their 991.2 to recoup most of their funds or trade up to RS or break even on another car as mentioned, i.e. a more suitable daily driver.

When the 992 GT3 launches......there will be probably be twice as many 991.2 GT3s for sale as their are currently and lots of 991.1s.............buying a low mileage 991.2 in 2021 for a weekend car will be appealing to many..........great weekend motoring!

Seems like Porsche and bit of peer pressure got people in a fever-pitch for the GT3.....and then those people....who should probably have bought a different car in the first place, realized that the car is a bit more serious & specialized than they expected.

And there are the flippers too, who just thought they would make $20K

95% of these are locked away in garages. 5% in the used market is not a crazy number imo.
There were total of only 2008 GT3s (991.1) imported to NA. In 2014 (548 cars), 2015 (1251 cars) and 2016 (209 cars). And there are 3073 991.2 GT3 produced for NA so far.

The 5500 number are estimate of total of 991.1 + 991.2?

Agree....not being able to test drive on the street for any length of time is a factor in not buying the right car for what you want to really use it for. Happened to me as I read reviews on how the GT3 could be used daily. I even did the turbo versus the comparison at PEC...

My takeaway was that the Turbo surprised me on the track and the GT3 was not that much stiffer but then again it was on a track in retrospect.

Made wrong decision, but recovered and traded in on a CPO Turbo S, so money wise I actually ended up slightly ahead not counting future depreciation that the TurboS will experience relative to GT3.......

But in the end I drive the TTS everyday everywhere no matter the weather or situation.

Someday I may get into a GT3 again as it is a special car that is for very specialized use.

I bought my GT3RS at msrp and have been looking for a manual GT3- ridiculous prices with PTS etc. from dealers which flow down to the individual seller who thinks he has got the last piece of waterfront property on the east coast- these cars are over a year old- P cars depreciate and maybe even more with this car based on production numbers and limited use compared to a regular P car.
