170+ USED 2018 GT3s for Sale
#17
I have been looking at the GT3 market for a long time. Didn't get an allocation and passed on ADMs. I continue to look and have been very surprised with the high number of 2018 GT3s for sale on Cargurus / Autotader etc. most are manual.
- has anyone picked up a used low mileage for under MSRP recently?
- Any concern that the high number of manuals for sale is an indicator of poor shifting performance and feel?

I was at a track day at Buttonwillow this last weekend and a friend of a friend had a buddy in a ride-along and passenger made the driver pull off the track early because he had to hurl. Anyway found out the dude that couldn't even ride shotgun bought a GT2RS, sold it for $250K over sticker immediately after receiving and then that dude who bought it flipped it for another $60K over. At least the first buyer is now supposedly banned from any future allocations but that **** has been happening way too often (never mind the GT3RS / GT2RS that will never see a single track day and are just rev'd hard at stop lights).

LMAO!!
Where are all the "this is capitalism guyz!" comments? Looks like Porsche beat them at their own game and capitalism has failed them this time.
That feel when a GTS is rarer than a GT3..

Go on nationalpreownedporsche and you can see how people want to sell GT3's with over 6500 miles for $10K over MSRP (all the used GT3s I've seen are over MSRP) while all of the Turbos are appropriately priced for a used car (aka under what it costs new). I've driven a Turbo S and while I would love to drive a GT3 and compare the Turbo S seems to be a way undervalued car that can be just as comfortable on the road as on the track.

^ I rarely see a GTS being offered at our local dealer. They always have several GT3s hanging around. Both 991.1 and 991.2s and the new GT3s are starting to sit around for a while. Still looking for significant ADMs.

Lets look at the data. Car Guru Nation wide
2018 GTS (Coupe, Carrera, Targa): 24 listings
2018 GT3: 171 listings
2018 4S (Coupe, Carrera, Targa): 34 listings
And they wouldn't sell me a GT3.

For many, in regard to the GT3 the dream is better than the reality. A GT3 is not the most versatile car. The 991.2 isn't as razor sharp focused of a car as the 997 was but it is still not what many people actually want in a 911. They're awesome and I love them but they give up a lot in every day livability. That, more often than not is why they change hands with the frequency they do. The flippers game is for the most part is over for the 991.2.
