003 is cool, as is the Valkyrie.

But the better question might be how long will Aston Martin be around.

The 003 is excellent, but the Valkyrie might be the best modern street-legal car ever...

As a close friend of mine has a Valkyrie allocation, I spent some extra time checking it out during Geneva for him, to send him pics etc . While inspecting it, All I could think was that there were few roads where the carbon appendages wouldn't get trashed. This is a road car only in the most strict definition.
Feet above your waist driving position.
Lemans-tight cockpit.
stand on seats to get in it..

I doubt it will be seen on roads much... it was so extreme that it made the 003 look like a luxury SUV in comparison. This is as full-on Lemans prototype as I've ever seen.

Red Bull F1/Adrianne Newey is responsible for the aero/chassis design, not Aston.

And yes, great pics, Alex.

Good video of the same car -

But last I checked, every single one of these manufacturers and dealers would bleed you dry if they had the chance to make money off you. Why the blind allegiance to any one brand?

Ive owned Porsche, Mercedes, Ferrari and Mclaren as my high end toys. Currently have a Ferrari and Mclaren in the garage. Looking to get back into Porsche soon. And let me tell you, every single car depreciates. If you dont think so, ask the Porsche guys who paid 100k ADM for a .1 RS. Ask Ferrari owners what their FFs and Lusssos are worth. Hell, look at 488 values. Look at Porsche Turbo values a few years later. Anyone thinking depreciation is limited to Mclaren is kidding themselves.

All cars will depreciate except for a select few. Its not that anyone buying these things goes in with the attitude, that hey, I just cant wait to **** away a 100k on losses- They go in buying the car at a price they are comfortable with and knowing that there will be a loss at sale time. Ive given this example before buy I just booked one of my family vacations for the summer. About 35k total for about 5 days of fun. Thats money Ill never get back. Do I care? No. Its the cost of enjoyment. Every time I get into my Ferrari or my Mclaren, its a mini vacation for me. I bought my cars right, I know Ill lose some money. If I lose more, oh well, instead of worrying, Ill just make a better purchase but to try to not have any depreciation? good luck. And yes, that includes Porsche. Ask me how I did on my .1 RS after driving it a couple thousand miles. Yes- there is depreciation there.

Its one thing to talk about the merits of a car manufacturer, but that doesnt mean that you have to do it at the expense of another manufacturer. To me thats so childish and high school. I enjoy all cars. All of them have their merits. I hope to own many more of the various brands out there than I already have and never once did I think, man this car sucks because it cant go around the ring in less than 7 minutes. My RS gave me a ton of joy. My Touring gave me a ton of joy (for the unfortunate short time I owned it) my SLS gave me a ton of joy, my 488 has been priceless in terms of the pleasures its given and likewise Ive throughly enjoyed my 720 ownership which at the current moment has been the best car ive ever owned so far

I hope to be lucky enough to be able to enjoy many more cars from all manufacturers. I hope you all do the same and broaden your horizons.
I got killed on my570s spider I lost 60 grand in 5 months and only 1200 miles ..... they pump out cars like Hasidic pump out babies!

The new Ferrari F8 Tributo looks fantastic!
2,932 lbs and 720 out of the V8.

Are those Ferrari numbers though? We all know their numbers differ greatly from real world tests

IIRC next SportAuto has Pista's supertest, I'll post their measurements when the issue comes out.

Lotus cup 430. 2328lbs with 430hp. And that’s a Camry motor with an edelbrock blower. It’s doable to build something light and fast. Modern Mac/Porsche/Ferrari are not it.

Having owned, street driven and tracked an Exige for several years, I'll tell you why.

You know how everybody says "race car for the street" like it's the desirable standard? Well it isn't. Not really. ACTUAL race cars are very, very annoying on the street after the initial rush of fun. For example, you could SAY that the new C8 Corvette is "a race car for the street." But then the C8R wouldn't actually sell to anybody who ever expects to drive it to dinner with his wife. It just wouldn't. The experience is vastly different.

Now, I'm not saying that the Exige is an actual race car, but Lotus leans their street cars more in that direction than Porsche, Mac, Ferrari, etc. They're flippin' fantastic, but they're also crappy at the same time. And they sell a lot less of them, because a lot fewer regular people are willing to put up with them. Porsche, and to a lesser extent Mac and Ferrari, are in the business of SELLING cars. Lotus is in the business of showing off their engineering chops while scraping by on the leftover scraps of masochist buyers. Lotus air conditioning is controlled by a hamster in a wheel, and once he dies from heat exhaustion, the AC never blows again, and Lotus owners don't care. You and I might like a Porsche equivalent, but MOST shoppers would not. They might say they want that race-car-for-the-road experience, but if they test drive the Lotus, they're going to move on.

I absolutely LOVED my Exige. But the unfortunate fact is that I'm getting older and less happy tolerating it on any kind of regular basis. And since, as is often the case, being older also means I've got a bit more money now, the solution is GT3RS. It's way, way, way more tolerable. Like a real car instead of a toy. And the vast majority of buyers, regardless of what they say, want something that feels like a real car.
