7:30am on a Sunday morning Ortega will be open with almost no traffic.

Even if there is a slow car ahead, you can always slow and stop for a few minutes, then enjoy the open road ahead.

Most of the slower car pull off to the side to get you pass too.

There is always slow cars holding you back. I live 10 mins from Ortega , i have been avoiding it due to traffic. There are much better roads around SD and LA
But need to wake up at 5.30!
I just got back from ACH , roads are partially open but had a clean open run. Hopefully tommorow we won’t be stuck behind slow cars.

Would you be down for the 17th? Im not really looking to drive 2.5 hours up for ACH. Sounds fun but its just too long of a drive. Ortega is only 45 mins from SD

Everyone should be in the group text by now but if you’re not, heres an update:

Slight change of plans, instead of meeting at the Market at the end of Ortega, we’re going to meet at La Laguna Resort & Boat Launch. We have permission for entry and hangout for 30m-1h to take pics and what not

Address:
32040 Riverside Dr
Lake Elsinore, CA 92530

Count me in too! Thanks for the heads up KOTYKB. Should be a good run. I was on Ortega last weekend and it’s a little sandy going down the hill from Lookout to Elsinore, not bad but keeps the speed down.

Best method for slow cars that don’t pull off, as mentioned earlier, pull to the side or stop/crawl for a while to build the gap again. Then rip!
