Recommendations/advice for paint protection company in SF Bay Area
Preferably on peninsula or in south bay.
Please also advise regarding full car wrap--I assume PORSCHE letters on rear deck lid should be removed. Is a factory template advisable to get these lined up again to factory spec?
Looking to do xpel then cover with ceramic for optimal protection/shine/ease of wash. Any advice appreciated.

Thank you for thinking of XPEL. We have a lot of options in the Bay Area. Best bet is to check our installer Locator HERE and then narrow down your search to 2-3 shops. If you can, go to their shops in person and ask to see samples of their work first hand. This will let you gauge their workmanship, and customer support quality.
Yes, we would recommend to remove the PORSCHE letters on the rear and have new ones installed so that the install is much more seamless. At minimum, we would have paint protection film installed on the full front end and rocker panel area if not doing the entire car. Then have a ceramic coating applied on top of the XPEL and on the rest of the vehicle too.

Thanks. For the rear letters, you mention that new ones should be ordered (vs reapplying the existing ones), correct? And should we get a template from Porsche to reapply in factory configuration?

I've tried to purchase the Porsche lettering template from Suncoast and they said they won't sell it to an end consumer. Only bodyshops can get them.
I know Moe from Glistening Perfection in So Cal has templates for all models of 991s.

Good ?
Good question. So the existing ones can be reapplied if new tape is applied to them but some shops opt in to just put on new badging. This is up to the shop usually and what they're comfortable doing. As far as a template, this is where you'd want to find a quality shop as they'll normally take a template themselves using scrap film as a guide/template. As long as you find a quality installer, you'll be A-Okay.

I'd suggest just making sure they apply them before the ceramic coating, you don't want anything on top of ceramics for sure on account of the risk of falling off...
