Default Aftermarket Exhausts on Cars with Particulate Filter

I have been waiting to pull the trigger on a full exhaust system (headers on back) until I know if they will work on cars with PF without required a tune etc.

Any info please share here.

Thank you

If there are similarities to diesel DPF, you won't like the answer.

Sorry Goldberg, to be clear I am concerned the particle filter system is linked with the computer system of the car and removing it to fit a full aftermarket exhaust system could cause warning lights and other issues with the vehicle.

Oh sorry.

When i hear particulate filter i associate that with DPF (Diesel particulate filter)

Do you mean Catalytic Converter? I have never heard of a petrol engine having a particulate filter? (though correct me if im wrong)

To answer your question, im of the belief that yes you will get a CEL. But the common solution is to put a spacer where the O2 bung is. Or ofcourse a tune will remove CEL.

It sure will be interesting to see what happens. I would bet that Porsche will have this definitely coded into the computer and it will go into limp mode and say (PPF faulty - go straight to dealer). EU will not brook anything that can muck with their precious emission controls after dieselgate.

Goldberg, PPF stands for Petrol Particulate Filter and is required to be fitted to all Euro cars after Sept 2018. I don't know if it's fitted to US vehicles. Todate, Australian vehicles have not been fitted with them (to the best of my knowledge)
