Default Rob's new 458 has arrived!

Okay maybe not. But we picked this up instead.

Ultimately felt like a Jeep in Colorado would provide a lot more opportunity to experience unpaved roads, leaving the paved stuff to the GT3.

Good choice, throw a roof top tent on and enjoy nights out without having to sleep rough.

I'm waiting for Jeeps Gladiator to be released. Looks to be a serious off roader.

Nice! Now you just need a moto to really enjoy the Colorado unpaved roads and beyond.

The more i thought about this second toy and that i wanted contrast relative to the GT3, everything else just provided too much overlap. Went to look at Jeep and was blown away. These things have a lot of character and are super user-friendly. Great road manners and everything is logically laid out. Never thought i would own a jeep but this is the perfect stablemate to the GT3. Besides, Colorado! Hundreds of trails to investigate. I am not thinking of anything hard core, but just exploring trails and getting out with the wife and dog.

Fully loaded for $51k is hard to beat imo. The only downside i see if you have to wave at every jeep that goes by, which is a full time job here! And the wife loves it.

Not saying i would DD this thing but as a weekend toy that gives a lot of contrast to the GT3, this thing is a winner.

Powertrain is supposed to be very good. No idea about the rest of it. But seems to be built very solid. Highest resale value of any vehicle. But i got the extended warranty just in case. lol

The funny thing about Jeep is non-Jeep owners focus on reliability and wonder who in their right mind buys one? But Jeep owners know these things are awesome and focus more on what you can do with them. It is a lifestyle vehicle. It is about exploring and really seeing this country. I would never buy one to DD.

Easily the most modifiable vehicle ever. They sell **** for everything. This is the new JL generation. Supposedly it has better road handling. It rides very good. The turbo engine is a mini hybrid, and i feel zero lag. Gets about 19mpg so far. Insurance is $68 per month. This is the top of the line Rubicon, so locking diff, electronically controlled sway bars and a crap load of other stuff. Has a lot of character.

Bought a winch today. And an air compressor. Let the mods begin!

Four years ago I got broadsided on my moto by a red light running distracted teen in a Rubicon at about 45 mph. I can't see a Rubicon anymore without wincing from impact.
