GT3 Compatible Flatbed Truck
Any insight into what flatbed truck is compatible with GT3s (won’t rub chin with FAL and rear diffuser)? Any issue with the one pictured?

You need to focus on the bed. Some go back further than others which reduces the angle. If you reach out to Jerr-Dan (they seem to be the most popular flatbed around here) they might be able to give you the specs on the bed. I just looked at the manuals online and they don’t seem to have extension lengths from which you would calculate her angle. [edit, that appears to be a century bed] Unfortunately I also don’t know the approach angle on a GT3. I do know that mine needed ramps to get on a medium duty flatbed — most flatbeds around here are medium duty, not the 550/5500 light duty like the ram you show.
Its funny you posted that pic because I keep looking for an older F550 or 5500 ram flatbed.

You might have a fighting chance with a low boy COE. This is local to me, but I want to stick with a 7.3 powestroke (aka T444e) or a 5.9 Cummins. Some of the early 5500 Chevy/GM came with the 5.9 and that is the gold standard in my view, but they are very rare and it’s not like there are a lot of good condition two decade plus rollbacks floating around. Much more likely to find a 1999 or early 2000s F550 with the 7.3. Personally you could not pay me to buy a diesel from the emissions era — which is why the 07 and older trucks are so expensive.

Flat beds
Most dealers, high end independents and tow companies around here have at least one or two articulating flat beds. Best way I can describe it is the rear 3'-4' of the bed has an independent hydraulic system from the primary bed. They set it at a low angle, get the front wheels on, and reset the angle to the main bed angle and winch it up. They can also fiddle with the angle for the rear wheels if need be. Perfect for my CGT, no planks, blocks of wood and trouble waiting to happen.

I wasn't too impressed with the set up here, and this was the very first time I actually drove the car - so was touch and go.

GT3’s approach angle is 5.7* without the FAL. With the FAL it goes up to about 7* if memory serves (I made a nice calculator for this when figuring out if I could get one into my garage). Take a protractor or digital level out there and measure it and you’ll have your answer. Neither is a particularly steep angle. Most regular cars have approach angles closer to 10*, even sports cars, so very few flatbeds not intended for race cars get shallow enough.
