Default Advice Before Purchase 991.1 GT3

Considering a CPO 991.1 GT3 but in reviewing the service report, the tech noted that the sport exhaust was not operational because no voltage was going to the valve. The notes documented the following:

“Removed the DME to further inspect wiring and found that the power wire was damaged. Replaced damaged wire.”

It’s a 2016 with 1,800 miles so seems a bit odd...perhaps previously modded. Any thoughts or red flags I should consider before purchasing?

That’s odd. Maybe rats got in there & damaged the wiring? Not to uncommon from my understanding. I don’t think it’s a red flag. I have the exact same year GT3, you won’t be disappointed!

Does not sound like anything to be concerned about, especially since you are still under factory warranty. I have same MY, it has been problem free in the 2 yeas I have owned it. <13k miles.

Thanks for the advice. Hoping it’s not the results of poorly done mods from the previous owner. Not worried about this particular issue but also not sure what else could be impacted.

Looks like you were right....Anything else I need to have them check? Safety systems? Brake lines?

Gotta love those soy bean sheathing lines. The varmints love them. There are a lot of that stuff all over the car. Have them do a full inspection of any wire that is exposed such as all brake wear sensors, incl. ABS sensors, wiring to the radiator fans and all electrical lines in and around the engine bay. I would not worry about this as these components are easily replaced. One thing I would want to know is whether or not this is going into the CARFAX system, if so a discount on the PP may be in order.
