I believe he is referring to 991.1 not both ...

If you drive short trips, you build water condensation in the oil. You need a long vigorous drive to evaporate that water and restore the oil level. Sounds like you need a Track day

Of course, it could also be an unreliable oil gauge (not uncommon)

It causes your face to have a permanent smile for which there is no cure.

It even kind of stutters as if I'm not giving it gas.

Is this normal? Why is it doing this? Anyone else experiencing this? Should I get it checked out?

Thanks in advance.
Just though of something, but I could be wrong. Is my above problem perhaps related to the "4K RPM issue" that I read about on here where the I think the valves or flaps open or close or some **** and there's a change in the exhaust note? What I mean by "related to" is perhaps my above problem only happens if I shift from 1st to 2nd gear at or near 4K RPM? Not sure.

This has happened to my car twice, exactly the same symptoms. The car limped along briefly before recovering. I took it to the dealer but no codes of any sort showed....

Seems like it's not unique to my car given what I'm reading above, but also b/c my current 991.2 GT3 is my second one and the first one did the same. Still haven't had time to take it in but will try to. Hopefully, it's nothing crazy and something can be fixed. I'll let everyone know.

Pretty sure I've seen you and your car in West LA, but I could be wrong......and you also got your car from Matt Kleinstub at BH Porsche?

I had the exhaust actuator tube come off on the left side, as mentioned by others here. Fixed it myself the first time with a zip tie but it didn't hold up. Dealer put a new clamp on for me.

I had an issue with the shifter making a bit of a squeak and some rattling noises. I was sure there must be something wrong with the shifter itself but my dealer says I just need a new shift ****. This was during my year-end service before putting the car away for the winter so I'll get the new one on in the spring and see if it resolves the issue.
I guess I need to update this. I've had another issue but I'm not sure what to say about it. I mean... this thread is about known issues. Mine was an unknown issue, but it was a doozie.

A couple weeks ago my motor just shut off while I was driving and then wouldn't restart. It would turn over very slowly but wouldn't fire. There was no indication from the car that anything at all was wrong. No smoke. No leaks. No CEL or any other messages on the dash. The car seemed to think it was fine.

I picked it up Tuesday night with a new motor in it.

I wish I could give more information but that's really all I've got. No major over-revs or anything. It just gave up the ghost. I expect they'll send it back to Germany for a tear-down to figure out what went wrong but I have zero hope of ever being updated with that information.

Yikes! Glad it was handled quickly, but that is not great news. But I guess when you make thousands of motors, a small number are gonna do that. Glad it wasn't a spectacular failure while you were driving hard...
