2015 GT3 F engine oil overfill lamp is on after oil change at dealer

I've recently had the oil/filter changed and the overflow lamp came on. Returned and had some oil drained. Now, 2 months later and after almost no driving, the lamp is back on. Says no damage at risk, but drive to service and have oil level reduced. Has the car been sitting too long? Do I just need to drive?

This was a continuous problem in my .1 RS. I'm guessing you have the yellow warning. I just said enough already and drove the car w/o concern. I think the electronic dipstick in those motors is crap and can't be trusted.

Really appreciate the reply. Yes, it is the 991.1 F-series engine. Thanks again, Dave

Try opening your oil fill cap then putting back on again. I did that and the alert went away. Not sure if that allowed the sensor to reset but it worked!

Thanks much. Will try it. Good suggestion. Again, thanks. Dave

You don't even need to open the oil filler cap, just open the rear hood, I waited 10-20 seconds and then close it, the warning should disappear. This happened to my car last week and I opened the rear hood and it corrected the issue.

Ahh. Thanks. Will give it a try. Best. Dave

The car is a diva regarding oil filling. If its 100ml to much, you will have the warning. Goog luck.

Diva, she is! Thanks for the encouragement!

Rev to 9000, repeat.

You will then need to refill oil.

Mine doesn't consume oil anymore. Since ~ 4.000 km and 5W50, no need to refill like it was during the break in.
