Default Short shift kit for 991.2 GT3 Manual

https://www.suncoastparts.com/product/PK9X1SSU.html

Has anyone installed this? Does it make a difference versus stock, or does the GT3 already have this type of short throw shifter from the factory?

If you want to look beyond Porsche parts, you could try this (Rennlist threads about this too):

This is a very interesting product.

I wonder if any one has done this on a 911R/.2 GT3

I had the Numeric shifter on my 997.2 and really liked it. I'm thinking about trying it on the 991.2. I checked with Numeric and it is supposed to work the new .2s. That is, if you picked the right transmission.

All ears!!!! Let us know if/when you do it.

I bet they will sell a lot if the swap is easy/successful and you have the same results as you did in your 997.2

I believe Numeric has also improved their cable ends. Less NVH.

Any shorter throws - you want PDK installed.

I had a chance to play around with a Numeric shifter that had just been installed on a 991.2 GT3. It is definitely notchier, more defined/affirmative in feel, and shorter in throw. In my opinion, there is no downside. However, the improvement is incremental, not magnitudinal. Afterall, the stock shifter is already pretty damned good and 80% free of the slop you see in the regular model shifters—even though the mechanism is the same all-plastic affair. Something else must be at play (maybe the cables, gearbox itself, etc.).

For me, the greatest appeal of the Numeric is psychological. It is just a much nicer piece of work than the OEM part. Combined with the incremental improvement in shift feel and action, I think the price is fair, though it’s not anything close to a must-have upgrade.

I have the Numeric in my .2 and love it. Been waiting to review in an update of my journal but never seem to get around to it.

Didn't do the cables only the short shifter. Worth it for the notchier and firmer feel. More mechanical. A little more resistance and shift gates a bit more defined. Disappointed that I don't notice the throws to be much shorter. I now want to get rid of the plastic stock shift **** for something shorter like the Function First, but they've been out of stock for some time now. I suspect that it'll be quite an improvement with new shift ****. I'd say it's worth the money... but as other have stated, it's only a modest improvement. Cost a couple hours of labor plus the short shifter.

^What size spring did you go with?

Here is a Function First **** on my .2. Love it but because aluminum can get cold in the colder climates.

Jimmy, I have no idea. The shop that performed the work (Speedsport, Danbury, CT) ordered the shifter directly from Numeric. You'd think they'd tell me there were options? I actually asked, and they told me there was only one at the time. Spring determines tension from neutral position, correct? Mine has a fair amount of tension, and I like it that way.

Interested in the short shifter for the throws... but that FF **** looks like a hot potato in the GA summer. I'd rather have something leather like this from BFI that I did in my GT4. The OEM plastic chome **** bit went flying off on turn 7 at Barber... needed a replacement.
