991.2 GT3 __Need your help
Hello together,
I got my dream car after a long time of thinking. A 991.2 GT3 in chalk.
My previous one was the 991 GTS full black inside/outside which I had posted here with some pictures as well but my "old" account disappeared somehow
I decided, although the car is not meant for the race track, to slim down a bit where it is possible and to improve the sound.
And here comes my problem: I want to replace the original muffler of the GT3 (I mean it is made by stainless steel) with the original muffler of the GT3RS (titanium).
Now, I don't get a real answer to my question whereas the porsche part nr 99111102790 is titanium or stainless steel...some of them says titanium others different.
Does any of you know it better or ask any other question which is the right part nr made of titanium for the GT3/GTRS 2018 ? how do I could recognise (by a pic and now the wheigt) which one is titanium which steel?
PS: I have seen a video on youtube where some guys was removing the muffler from the 991.2GT3 putting them of the balance. Result 20kg/44lbs! Honestly I was wondering if that part is such heavy (the muffler of the GT3RS seems to be < 5kg/11lbs). Could I also assume the video was manipulated....
thx
Peter

Why not consider a center section bypass like JCR, Sharkwerks, or GMG? You'll lose more weight than fitting the OEM RS Titanium Muffler center section. You can even get a silenced version if you want it on the quieter side.

in my country the police man are killing you there is why I am thinking iniitailly to save by the titanium oem. So do you know if my assumption is right ?
ps: sharewekrs is too loud, maybe JCR or Soul as i have read goods about
thx

You’re confusing weights on the side mufflers (10kg each) with weight of center muffler.
On a 991.2, the Titanium center muffler is only 3.6 lbs (less than 2kg) lighter than the 991.2 GT3 Steel muffler. 15.7 lbs vs. 12.1 lbs on my scale.
Sound difference is almost negligible.
Exhaust tips play a big factor on sound level and weight. The .2RS has lightweight tips the .2 GT3 has steel tips.
You can lose more weight on tools, wheels, brakes, battery, without having to deal with the Green-movement Millenials finest German generation of public servants that fail to understand where they came from, and that saving the planet starts by controlling the RIC offenders instead of supporting their policies and trying to mimic them.

Unless your racing and every tenth counts your fooling yourself if you think a different bypass is going to make a difference via weight in real life performance.
Pick the the one you like the sound of best and drive on.
Also look at CMS. Great bypass at great price.

A/S thx great posting. Fully agree with you on a long term it will not works to "mimic" the green guys this is a reason as well because I am looking to install the oem center muffler having a better sound without troubles with the greens (by the way the, are blue now )
On a second step I may also consider to remive the side mufflers but yes, dojng so you immediately see below is a racing exhaust.....
Any other modification, beside the battery and most likely the rollbar, is not intended as I am using the car couple of weeks/year after my family car and the ducati.
