GT3 Ownership History

I’ve been in the market for a .2 GT3 since selling my .1. Ran across my ideal spec, but the car has had 4 owners with only 2k miles. Would the ownership history deter anyone else from purchasing the car?

Really depends on the situation but 4 owners on a 2k mile 991.2 GT3 sounds kinda odd.

I'd want to see the CarFax and understand it, but it wouldn't necessarily disqualify the car for me.

These cars get flipped a lot. Probably no need for concern. Like mentioned, carfax review would help.

^Exactly.... and sometimes even from dealer to dealer, or dealer to broker, etc... including Porsche or non-Porsche dealerships.

Would dealer to dealer show up on the Carfax? I didn't think it would.

No issue if the car is mechanically sound.
Get the DME readout, drive the car and examine the transmission shifting action. If it is not buttery smooth, walk.

There is no way to miss-shift a PDK (you didn't state transmission type) but on the MT cars you can. The only way a DME readout obtains over revs in regions 3-6 is by a miss shift and all that torque will flow through the Trans bearings.

Would you take a moment to explain how “all that torque will flow through the trans bearings.”

Seems to me the only way this could happen is if the bearings seized; wouldn’t the torque go through the gears back into the crankshaft?

I must be missing something.

Here is the link to the vehicle. Thoughts on the build would be appreciated.

Is CPO being offered?

The sale price should reflect multiple owners. If you go to sell, that will be a factor down the line.

I don't think multiple owners makes a difference anymore. Too many were built that people don't drive. They flip for the next model and never drove it. Just my opinion, take it for what it's worth.

And I have seen dealer to dealer movement on a car fax before.

I thought dealer to dealer did not require registration. Therefore, shouldn't show up on carfax.

That's why so many people drive on Dealer plates (at least in NY). No need to register = no need to pay taxes on buying the car.

Seems like it is not really 4 owners. The title is the same between 2 and 3 and it seems somewhat likely owner one is the same and just titled it in Montana. It also has a Fresno visit so maybe they know.

Listed as a CPO

2K miles as well at MSRP. Not bad. Nice to see reality is setting in.
