Bathurst victory for the GT3 R

I had the pleasure of watching Porsche take victory in the Bathurst 12 hour with the GR3 R. Epic driving from Matt Campbell, particularly some of his overtakes late in the race. Car sounded amazing and looked so strong at the end despite the heat. Here's a link to the highlights from the race if your interested in taking a look:

What a fantastic race – that last hour was so exciting, and Matt Campbell's three passing moves to get to P1 were outstanding

and the final 20mins

One of the worlds best race tracks :)

The last 90 minutes were absolutely gripping with all the strategy possibilities unfolding. Then competitors reacting taking or not taking tires to get track position, and finally under safety car some taking tires and sacrificing track position and getting payoff.
Through all this the 912 GT3R looked to be in a strong position then not with too much to make up under green flag. But then the last safety car and brilliant drive by Matt Campbell for the win.
Porsche have been trying to win this for a while as its the last major endurance event they hadn't won yet so big ups to Earl Bamber Motorsport. Maybe this team is now the top factory supported race team in the Asia Pacific region. Of course Earl is well known as one of the Factory's top drivers. So here are 2 Kiwi brothers pulling a great win at their first major endurance event. Could be another set of brothers forging a great race team in the tradition of Porsche teams - Kremer, Almeras, Manthey.

agree, nothing like track experience to give that bit of confidence to pull off the moves he did - especially that last one

And that was with the old R. New car is a significant step forward...

Fantastic piece of driving by Matt Campbell and the whole team. What a great race.
