Default Garage lighting suggestions?

I have 2 bays separated by a wall. Each bay is 25x45. Ceiling height is 20ft.
I was kind of thinking these may be an option ( I don't want the lights hanging down very far):

Thoughts? Suggestions?

My career as a lighting professional says those are way over kill . The technical term is " Glare bomb " (LOL)

You should goo to multiple linear type LEDs that illuminate evenly so you won't have that condition which creates hot spots and minimizes your eyes ability to adapt.

Do you have any you'd recommend? I figured since these would be 20 feet up, the light would diffuse. Looks like they use these to light gymnasiums.

An option is to go to Obsessedgaragestore.com and check out garage lighting. I've got a 3-bay at 13' and have 9 four bulb LEDs and they light it up beautifully. I have them about 2' off the walls to eliminate any dark spots then spaced evenly otherwise. Attached pic.

You can send Matt an email and ask for recommendations if you'd like.

I went with 12 of these in my 30' x 55' unit. 3 circuits. AWESOME!!! It's like daylight. Ceilings are 20' high. No hot spots. Diffuse lighting. And even with the Big *** Fan, no flicker they way I have them setup. You won't be disappointed.

I went with GE Albeo LED linear fixtures when we renovated our house and garage. 4-ft strips. Good color temp and light pattern. I believe they're the ALC6.

I've been shopping for garage lights as well, and I stumbled upon these in my research: https://www.primelights.com/shop/categories/stingray
They have options for diffusers to cut glare, and cages to protect the bulbs. The fixtures are all made in the USA. Some of the units from this company are sold on Amazon, and
the customer reviews are positive the customer reviews are positive
. In particular there are numerous comments about good customer service, which seems incredibly rare for companies selling this type of product.

I feel like T8’s are the best bang for the buck, but I went with some HI bay LEDs made by RAB lighting. You need to go to a local electrical contractor supply store and ask them what they sell to some of their commercial contracts. Usually they give you a good balance of cost versus performance/quality They actually put me in touch with the RAB lighting engineer who actually took the plans of my garage and designed the light schedule based on the fixtures that they sell.. and this cost me absolutely nothing
There is certainly better lights out there but I felt good about having someone with some engineering background position them I can’t remember the wattage per square foot but mine are divided into 1/3 and 2/3 output with availability to do 3/3 of course. I think the lowest level is around 1 W per square foot and that it increases up to 2+ watts per square foot

did you reach out to igooz ? I think he went through this recently and seemed like he did a good amount of research and made some good decisions

Any chance you could post a pic of your ceiling so I can see your lighting layout? Are these dimmable?

All Reasonable choices.

I would spec 5000 kelvin LEDs since that render car finishe color very nicely and detail work ( the Scotopic effect )

I have 8x of these, but I bought from Jet for around $100 each. 64,000 Lumens total does the job just fine. No hot spots and evenly distributed bright light. If you get one area too lit, you'll have shadows and that may cause problems.

Wait until March/April. Big *** Fans is coming out with an amazing new single bar led fixture. Shameless plug as I work there but I promise it is what every sweet garage will need and want.
