I didn’t mean to hijack this thread, just making the observation that I went in the opposite direction of you with regards to selling tow vehicle and extra cars, etc.
Anyways, it is a great snow vehicle with Pirelli Scorpion Snow and Ice tires.... and I live in Buffalo... 3 feet last week...so that says something
just wanted something other than another Porsche Macan/Cayenne, Range Rover , X3/5 or AMG GLC that seem to be driven by every other soccer mom in my area.

Have had my ‘13 LX since new and it’s a tank. Bulletproof reliability and capability. It’s my wife/baby hauler, tow vehicle, off-road machine, and have had it to 138mph indicated stock. Rock solid. My wife just loaded 1,200lbs of ceramic tile in the cargo area last week for a small house remodel. She works it pretty hard. Zero issues.
Why LX over GLS? Can anyone with experience compare the two?
If you want something that has been engineered, tested, and designed to last 25+ years, you get the LX/Land Cruiser. If you like going to the dealer for issues and rolling the dice on reliability/quality, try a GLS.

nothing can touch the reliability/comfort/running costs/build quality of the 200 series landcruisers. hand made in japan with 100% Japanese steel and components and used all over the world for mission critical duties
gls is niceish but not a true landcruiser competitor and will likely fall apart in 2 or 3 years after you buy and be worth 60% less.
landcruiser can tow 8500lbs easy. took my pos 2002 up to pebble beach for the quail show a few months ago didn't break a sweat. mine has over 300000 miles and not a single issue. costs me $100 bucks a year to maintain at the dealer every year just nuts for a 100k vehicle

I listed the 2005 online. Figured if i can’t get $25k for it i am going to put some good off-road tires on it and start having some real fun. With only 117,005 miles on her i figure i have 200,000 more miles of fun left. The girls side-by-side.

We have a 16 RRS HSE diesel and haven’t had any issues. The quiet cabin and aluminum (light weight) construction are really nice. But I wouldn’t expect the same longevity and reliability as a Toyota. We bought it figuring we’d keep it if we had some luck and it was reliable, but if we had lousy luck we’d get rid of it after ~3 years and likely go with something German or Japanese.
