No right or wrong answer with the sports chrono clock. I personally like it. 82% of North American 991.2 GT3 builds have the clock. Most prefer it on the build but that does not make it right for everyone. Good to have options.

For sure, it's a personal thing. I hope I didn't come across as implying someone is wrong for wanting it--I just wanted to adequately explain why I didn't like it, having actually lived with one. I was a little ruffled that someone would think I'd choose it or not for the cost. I think I'd actually pay to have it deleted if I had to.

Had sport chrono in my .1 gt3. It was a specced car I bought. Now, I ordered the .2 without the wart. It is a personal thing, and I don’t like it either. On the functional side, no need for one in a MT car. So many better options if you want a lap timer. It also interferes with audio imaging and center speaker autput, although most wouldn’t care about this.

After taking delivery of my GT3 with Chrono I agree there is little added value. I optioned it with the hopes that it would enable the shift assist rpm indicator in the round digital display like the Sport Chrono did on carrera 991.1 but it doesn't add that functionality. I do miss that feature.

Are you saying it doesn’t add shift assist? As in the changing colour lights as you scream towards redline? I’d be baffled if it didn’t. I spec’d my touring with out SC after hearing that it didn’t offer any added functionality outside lap timing. I got used to it in my GT4, and quite like the shift assist feature. On my first drive home w the touring I discovered there was no shift assist and assumed it was because SC was deleted from my build. I actually have been faintly regretting not choosing SC despite its distracting looks because of the assumed shift assist feature.

I would certainly like to get a Touring someday, though I would only have paid a premium if I could have specced one exactly as I wanted. I'm quite picky about those things unfortunately. Thinking back over the years every single vehicle (not just Porsches) I've bought I either ordered to spec or bought used as a good value. I'm more interested in a used 991R at $300K than a new GT3 at $200K. I have had my eye on a few "used" GT3 Tourings in a spec I would go for but the prices on those ones are very close to $200K still. :/
