2018 GT3 Sales and Re-sales--What's Up?
#16
I think it is true that some owners trade in for GT3RS and some just wanted to experience the car with all the hype and perhaps didn't like the hardcore edge, but there are many who bought the 991.2 GT3 in manual transmission form (50% or so) since it was lacking in the prior generation GT3 and even more so lacking in other sports cars out there these days. I am part of this group and really enjoy the manual aspect of the GT3 (boy is the 6-speed great). I plan to hold onto mine.

This data also points to the 911 range being sold in too much of a fragmented manner.. where there are so many variations of models sold as "different" from each other where in reality these would be mere "packages" with other brands (ie: awd on a bmw). It also points to how strong the demand for NA engines, and how they made a genius move by basically relegating NA engines to "premium GT" status with additional profit built in, where before it was everyman's engine. What would be interesting would be to see if there were proportionally more NA GT cars sold with the 991 vs the 997.. in other words, did demand for NA engines push the proportion of GT cars up when the normal 911 range went turbo. conspiracies abound in my mind but it seems Porsche found a way to get us all to buy more expensive cars by taking away something we always had and cherished.

Okay, Dirty lier is a strong word. no need to call names. If I was misinformed and mispresented information to the forum, then I would absolutely want to verify and make the correction.
I had no intention to mispresent or trick anyone into buying anything. I guess I will stop here. The internet you is not pleased.

You do realize that ADMs for the 2RS are falling day by day, right? There are several on the ground delivery mile cars that can be had at $50k over currently, just saying.

OK. Guys. I was told this was the only voodoo blue. So I posted as I was told. And the post was rightfully removed By mod. I accept that wholeheartedly.
@0to60, You own some decent cars. I am sure you dont achieve this by jumping to conclusion blindly. Maybe the internet you is different than in real life. You dont know me, you dont know the whole story. But the first reaction was to call names. You again presumed I thought everyone was not knowledgeable by a post with incorrect info. I've been with the forum for a long time. I have no doubt everyone else is full of Porsche knowledge. Even better than the one presented me with the info of these cars. (In case you haven't noticed my joined date and status, I've been a paid member for years, Well, I admit I was on the quiet side) Maybe next time, The internet you can start a civil discussion before calling names. You can always agree to disagree.
Now, 1 of 1 voodoo blue or not. The market is setting the price for them. After all, we are here to capitalize on these cars. I don't think anyone is doing this for good health.
@usctrojanGT3 That will be up to the dealer and buyer to decide. I am sure potential buyer can present data to negotiate a deal as always.
I do appreciate the correction.

^. I didnt read the entire thread and wasn't jerking you around. I just wanted to say that I know at least two voodoo.
that said, it's still rare
ppl worry too much about buying selling of other ppl
just buy drive be. happy then sell the damn car
it's just a car. not like selling your kids.
well, if someone paid up, my son and daughter are both for sale.

Yep they really churned them out this time around.
Yes, way more demand for Carreras, but several variants to choose from.
And it’s not just the GT2.

Not to beat a dead horse, but Voodoo is just WAY to popular of a PTS color for it to ever be a 1 of 1 pts color again on any modern run of pts cars. W/out any knowledge, voodoo/Mx/Rivi/viper/etc; the blues and greens are always safe bets there will be multiple copies.
