Default Predictions on the Rolex 24hr at Daytona

I know not as much interest in actual Motorsport events that these cars were homolgated for as the burning and important issues like should you wait for PTS?.., is deviated stitching worth it? full leather or not?, WP or not?.. is WP a real performance adder?.., fal or not ? and on and on ad nausium....

So here is an unusual question dealing with real Motorsport stuff...What are your prediction for the Rolex 24...?

Mine...the FGTs are hard to keep up with on the high banks.

New gen Audi R8 was running conservative times in the Roar. Also no BOP adjustments and very swift in the infield. Expect that one of the cars (hopefully #19 Moorespeed/Will Hardeman) will podium. i'll be there.

Few BOP changes after the Roar - the GTLM field was fairly tight

A few Porsche factory drivers - and Joey Hand - think the race will be more wild and chaotic than last year because:

(1) consensus is fewer years yellows
(2) drivers will push harder than last year (easier to go laps down without the wave by opportunity created by the yellow flag)
(3) more accidents, incidents, etc. to result

Wouldnt number 3 rule out number 1? If there are more crashes and incidents, there will be more yellows.

I’m confused... doesn’t number 3’s mean they’ll be more number 1’s?

They are rarely in the fight without a big BOP help.

Sorry I was unclear I suppose - The general expectation is #1 based on last year; as a result #2 will be the consensus strategy vs last year; the result might be #3 instead (expectation of limited/no yellow flag wave by, so everyone will push - resulting in more chaos)

which will in turn mean more #1, right?
which means just like last year. Full circle.

As guest of Ferrari I guess I'm going to be expected to root for them, but I'm a total noob in this series so excited to see the differences between machinery. Is it bad to hope for a few harmless crashes?.. maybe some paint trading? Maybe a prayer to the baby Jesus and some weirdly suggestive milk facials? .... (oh wait, that's nascar isn't it?).

I predict I'll meet a few rennlister there, but we won't recognize each other and we'll have an entire convo without a single screenname being mentioned.

Can’t make it this year but it’s a good time.
Car Coral and PAG hospitality suites best places to meet other RLers

Risi is a very well run team but they don't have the factory budget or support that is really necessary in GTLM these days. I recommend that you spend a lot of time walking around, trying different vantage (and auditory) points.

The paddock is very relaxed; you can approach most people you might recognize and expect to receive a favorable outcome/conversation.

Happy to meet up with you at some point; we can take a picture for RL as long as you'll tolerate my MAGA hat.
