Both have plenty of power AFAIK. Anymore and you should look at a jet powered car.
Back to the original post: Any GT car is a pleasure to drive, road or track, that is why they are hard to find with no markup...if all you want is max HP, Look at a Demon, they are cheap in comparison and will lift the front wheels off the ground every launch.
I hope you can find what you wish for.....
991.2 is on boat now. It will be great but will never have the same point and squirt thrill that an extra 200 bhp gives you. That said, it will beat the pants off anything on the track. Different strokes.

OP, I think it is unrealistic to think that you could get an allocation on a GT3 Touring at MSRP while everyone else in the market is paying ADM for used. That is of course unless you have an established relationship with a dealer. Your question is should you pay more or less. Less is always the question if those options actually exist. As others have stated above it is not likely there are any allocations available. As far as the market is concerned its tough to gauge what it really is, we see a lot of cars listed for substantially above MSRP but it is tough to say what they really will sell for. Saw a video of a guy who got a new GT3RS, called the dealer and they said they wanted 50k over MSRP, he said that was too much and they asked him to give them an offer. He didn't specify the exact amount but said he got is for a little over 10K over MSRP.

Anyway it sounds like based upon your most recent post it sounds like the GT3 isn't the car for you. To make sure you know before you buy it might be worth a trip to the experience center and do a 90 min session in one. A turbo S might be a better fit for you if you feel the GT3 isn't sufficient in terms of power.

OP is asking why people are paying over MSRP when you can spec on the Porsche site a new one at MSRP.

OP, just because you can spec a new one, doesn't mean you can get it at MSRP!

I think based on your question, you are looking for "value", then buy the one with ADM and maybe you will help drive the prices higher.

Drive safe,

Right now you can Spec a brand new Touring with PCCB / Axle Lift / Buckets for the following -

Base price:
$143,600
Price for Equipment:
$22,840
Delivery, Processing and Handling Fee
$1,250
Total Price:*
$167,69

Does it make more sense to purchase a brand new example in lieu of a Market Adjusted Pre Owned

I disagree, I sold my 991.1 GT3 because it felt underpowered, but my 991.2 GT3 feels much stronger. I don't have the same complaints about the 991.2 at all. Yeah it's not a turbo torque monster, but it's a big improvement in my opinion.

Would you buy a 997.1 gt3 with no wing that feels 20hp shy of the normal gt3? even if they made 50?

No...no one wants it, no one cares.

because that is what a touring is...but the pea brains are still fixated on a 911 r from 3 years ago because value LOL...

stfu and go drive a porsche idgaf which one at this point...just drive and stfu
