Hello Guys,

I had 2014 C4S and finally moved to GT3, Thought C4s was too civilized and wanted something more special for my weekend car and picked up GT3.
I love how it drives and I was really surprised how additional 75 hp makes such a big difference in acceleration.
I have couple questions about GT3 that I have noticed different than my C4s

- Brake Feel: I had PCCB on previous C4s and now I have steel brake, which i think it stops fine but there is no initial bite to it. I thought PCCB was pretty sensitive which I really liked but compare to PCCB or my other cars GT3 steel brake feels very numb. Is this normal?

- Low Speed Chatter feel: Right before I stop when the RPM goes around 1k on 1st gear, I feel this strange chatter sounds and vibration coming from transmission, almost like a light weight flywheel is this normal?

- PDK: I had PDK on my c4s and GT3 pdk is much more quicker but it almost feels like manual tranmission sometime, when car start to rolling or when it goes to reverse, car will not crowl without acc. pedal. C4s felt like normal automatic transmission, but quicker and smoother, but this GT3 PDK is very much like manual transmission. is this normal?

I can't comment on question #1 as my GT3 is my first Porsche, but the behavior in Question 2 and 3 happens in mine.

You are driving a race car, all of that you stated is normal behavior. I'm surprised you haven't mentioned the exhaust being too quiet with the flaps closed at low RPMs. Being that it really is a race car, you need to first warm up the car, it takes 10-15 mins of driving for the car to feel "normal" compared to a reg 911, specially in colder temps.

It all sounds normal to me. But w/o driving it I can't be sure. The brake thing sounds a tad odd but I suspect it's just coming off of the PCCB. My advice would be to switch to Pagid Yellow (RSL29) pads and see if you like the feel of that more. If not just swap back and they'll be an easy sell on Rennlist.

2. Let everything warm up and it should lessen.
3. Sounds normal as others have stated. It does not like to be babied.

Similar to you, it took some adjustment on my part after picking it up as well.

I went from a GT4 with PCCB (and then converted to Giros), to a GTS PDK with steel and now a .1 GT3 with PCCB:

More initial bite with PCCBs, no getting around that. Converting the GT4 to steel showed me the big difference. The overall stopping power was there but it took more initial pedal speed to get there. GTS, and I'm assuming your old car: the MC has too much assist. My GTS stopped fine with good rotors & DS2500s but the system was too temperamental for me compared to the GT cars.

The PDK in the GT3 is noisier & not as smooth as the GTS and like you pointed out doesn't creep when at a stop. (BTW one can disable that condition in a normal Carrera PDK with the Cobb PDK remap). The gears in the GT3 sound like they are more square cut or something.

Sitting at a stoplight the GT3 shakes, grumbles and while the idle looks constant the car almost feels like it isn't running quite right, like it's loaded up or something. I've been told that condition has been a feature of the car, accidental or designed, and makes it feel like the old Mezgers.

Based on my limited experience I'd say your GT3 is perfectly normal.

The one thing that's really come back to me is how much better the steering in the GT cars is over the standard Carreras!

Congrats on the new car!

Steels vs PCCB, my experience PCCB have amazing initial bite right from the get-go, while with steels you need to build heat in them to have a similar initial bite to PCCB.

The steel brake takes a bit of warming up before initial bite is satisfactory; even then it's not as immediate as I've experience in other cars/setups.

The PDK (S?) in the GT3 is practically a manual in operation. What you are experiencing, OP, is accurate.

all normal. It's very strange that at low speed/idle you hear all that "race car" noise and yet in city cruising it's way too quiet.....and at the same time the suspension is harsh and beat you up and feels very "race car"
