What about an unlimited new 991 R in case 992 does not sell perform well? They have already GT3ised the cabrio, remain a 4 wheels and voilà the 991.4

So if they do this it will be exactly a Touring with an RS motor and more street friendly spring settings. I'm not sure there will be the same buzz about a new 911R as there was with the first one as there wasn't anything comparable back when it first came out.
I still think the 991.1 nose on the current 911R looks better than my Touring however.

If you think German, no 911 R will be released for a long time to come. Recently, Porsche has surprised everyone, but waiting for another R... I could be wrong, but you would need to wait for decades.

I agree, Porsche won’t screw them, the whining children, twice, lol. No R coming me thinks

Second batch of GT3 RS coming this year for Europe with the particulate filter will be 500 PS. (Reduction of 20 PS because of the filter and no doubt an increased weight too). Don’t see how any other models this year with the same engine in EU can top 500 PS if this is indeed true.

I can imagine a new Sport Classic w/ ducktail and Touring running gear, but there won’t be another R.

Making a 991.2 R would make the 991.1 R "dated." It would also water down the exclusivity of the "R" badge. I do not see how releasing another R would appease the VIP clientele, many of whom already have an R. If the VIP clientele have first shot at a 991.2 R like they did the 991.1 R, won't the same thing happen? The VIPs will buy them all and the general public will never get a shot at it? In other words, the VIPs would theoretically have two R's each. I mean, who would pass up buying an R if given the opportunity? Even if you don't want the car, you buy it, hold, and flip it (cautiously) within the terms of maintaining your VIP status. All in all, just doesn't make sense to me that they would release another R so soon after the 991.1 R.
