Swap RS for GT3 Manual?
I have an opportunity to trade my 2016 RS for a 2018 GT3. I really want a manual as I only track my car 1-2 times per year. Thoughts? Would ya? |
I'LL will do it. You said you want a MT , so why not
also the way I look at it , if you realize later on that it was a mistake, you can always get another .1 RS |

The new engine is so different from the previous. Mix that with a manual and it's no question. |
Replace your .1 RS with a .2 RS if you really want the new engine. |

Non-sense.
Get Cayman or Boxster if you live in U.S., as the street speed limits are not adequate for driving a GT3 on the streets and enjoy it. Get a 987.2 Cayman R or 987.2 Boxster Spyder, better sound, better steering, good for the street. Then for the 1-2 track days, rent a proper race car. |

Handling - for me the GT3 doesn’t come close to the front end grip and feel of the .1 RS. The difference is very noticeable and directly affects the next point I state. Confidence Inspiring - the RS gives you a degree of confidence that was unequalled by my manual .2 GT3. Throwing the RS around mountain roads was predictive...no crazy surprises.The GT3 hops and twitches and in sports mode and rev matching did some weird things when shifting going into a sharp corner. I’m not into white knuckle moments. Presence - for me the aesthetics and rawness of the bolder design of the RS just ticks boxes that the GT3 didn’t. PDK - dare I say it... I actually missed the PDK! It’s instant downshifts enable speed shifts (acceleration and deceleration) that provides an entirely different dimension of driving than a manual GT3. The manual is sublime... but if it’s a manual car you want get a GT4 manual GTS. The above are just from my personal non technical bone-headed perspective. So much is subjective and I respect others opinion on the choices. |

Manual 100%. You wont regret the connection it prove you vs the 2 pedal version. |
If the MT is the only thing that you care about then sure, that's an easy decision. However if you DD, 99% of the time, and don't want to deal with the clutch in traffic/ etc. I'd give it more thought. It comes down to how you're planning on using it but sure- easy decision :]
