quick question, how do you plan (follow) your daily routes?
i did this system on a few of the multiday travels...it works fine, until it doesnt.
garmin 1000 cycling computer with preloaded route maps.
trying to see if there are better solutions out there folks are going with.

did you get a chance to hit CA-33 in Ojai? I drove from Milwaukee to San Francisco a few years ago in winter with my S4 on snow tires, they were fine but like you said the performance takes a noticeable drop at warmer temps. If you're driving the car back you should go through Capital Reef National Park in Utah.

Well, normally I am over-planned to the point of exhaustion -- ask my better half (although complaining, she wouldn't have it any other way). Our recent Euro Delivery was down to the minute, with things in reserve, just in case.

This trip is just me, and I am trying the complete opposite. I have no idea where I will be tomorrow, other than a general outline. Loving it.

I must say, though -- Bike computer is a clever approach! I used RideWithGPS myself today. Pics forthcoming.

I have also dowloanded the Porsche Road Trip app, but have yet to use it. I am an avid Googler, and information sponge, however...

I was in Ojai yesterday, and was planning on it. However, CA-33 is closed until Jan. 23. I take it the recent mega-rains?

Will read up on Capital Reef. Thank you!

David Attenborough might approve of the door ding avoidance parking methods?

(Top pic also reveals transmission choice.)

yea probably. I was there after Thanksgiving in 2015, that was also during a storm and the road was dangerous. I had to clear some rocks from my path, actually came across a guy who cracked his oil pan on a rock in the road. Capital Reef has been probably my favorite drive all time. Total solitude, setting sun and the sound of my engine.

Stopped by Singer -- but it was MLK day and they were closed, told me a parts guy working anyway. All I saw was ... greatness-to-be. ;-)

That's my friend Rob Amick's car. He would have loved meeting you & talking Porsche. Looks like you caught PS/PD on one the rare rainy days. Did you run the 74 up to the Overlook or Sugarloaf?
Great photos, you have inspired many of us here to take the car off the bookshelf and DRIVE !!

Cheers,

That's Spike and Zuckerman's Touring. If you don't listen to Spike's Car Radio Podcast, you should!
