Model Year 18 vs Model Year 19
What was the reason behind cars being made later 2018 being MY2018 vs MY2019? Did anyone find out the facts? I used to think it had something to do with particulate filter, but that's off.

As I understand it, it's just a matter of routine: all cars manufactured/completed before a certain date are MY2018, after that date are 2019. I believe the cutoff date is sometime late September or October? No changes to the 991.2 GT3 between MY 2018 and 2019. It's the same car.
Now for the editorial. Originally production was supposed to stop before they had to change the year designation, but demand was so high PAG just kept making them. Why not? No retooling needed, just make the exact same car, just more of it and later into the year. Profit!!

NHTSA rules state any given model year cannot repeat January’s.
991.2 base GT3 production began July 2017, as production has continued into January 2019 they had to create a 2019MY
2018 model year GT2RS started in January 2018 again as it cannot be produced in January 2019 unless designated as a 2019MY like base GT3 they added a 2019MY.
Cars like 2016 GT3RS which started in May 2015 were produced as a 2016MY through December 2016.
991.2 3RS started in July so they could theoretically build though December 2019 under the same 2019MY designation.

Add optional PECLA delivery and it also increased from $875 to $1,075 in September to its current $1,125.
add GGT and I’m paying almost $4k in fees on top of msrp, before tax or registration.
