Default First Impressions- 2019 GT3RS in GT Silver - And PICS

Got about 150 miles in yesterday before the snow came in. Glad I did. I like to follow the spirit of the break in procedure and work up the revs and speed over a period of miles/seat time. Even at almost 14k miles on my .1, I was still ‘breaking it in’..getting more acclimated with the machine with each and every mile. Looking forward to a similar journey with the .2.
I was shifting around 5-6k in spirited fashion...
First impressions- (I retain my right to change the impressions below as I get more seat-time.)
1. PDK is DEFINITELY crisper/faster.
2. More mid-range push-you-in-your-seat power.
3. The engine does seem to want to rev easier/freer/quicker(?)
4. Suspension is DEFINITELY more firm. I can feel the stiffer springs for sure. (I was running GT3 Cup spherical inner lower control arm bushings front and rear on my .1)
5. Factory alignment/set-up way better for spirited back road fun.
6. All the exterior lighting seems more vibrant...electric-like. Very modern and cool. Assuming LED still...but I perceive them as upgraded tech over the .1
7. Like the more aggressive styling of the front and rear fascia...larger side skirts and of course the NACA ducts...all just elevate the look to my eyes.

Very happy with the upgrade!

Very clean.

I'm looking forward to more impressions from those who have experience .1 & .2 RS. The price difference is now significant and I've had my mind on a lava red .1 for some time.. used car which has been well depreciated as this would be for track (still manual for me on the road)

Look great, Phil. Based on my limited seat time in Ryan's car, I would concur with what you said. As Porsche does ... the next one is always better.

Sweet ride phil... and I admire your taste in wheels. Can't wait to see it in person!!

I've had them both and as you know a ton of eat time in various GT's. The .1 is >90% as good as the .2. Yes the .2 revs, faster, has more pull, and is better connected to the road. However, you don't drive it and get the feeling the .1 is anywhere near inadequate or obsolete. The proven reliability (see trakcar, et al, 2018) of the .1 is hard to ignore and I think it's a very very sound buy right now.

Thanks bud! Not paint... it's vinyl. I may eventually have them painted.

Thanks bud! though... I MIGHT throw a curve-ball and change the wheels up. I will be running gold wheels for the summer/track. I would also agree on your comparison of the .1 vs the .2.

Thanks Alan! I’m trying a different exhaust set-up this time. I have a TON of respect for Dundon... but want to try something new.

Looking forward to seeing you and the crew in the Spring.
