In SW Ohio potholes are like wormholes transporting you to the nearest tire shop.

CarPlay is also a great way to get SiriusXM in cars that don't have the wart or you let the subscription expire, (as long as you have it on another car) via the iPhone app

Try scrolling over to next screens to the right in CarPlay. On mine Waze app was on the 3rd screen sitting by itself, even though there was plenty of room for additional apps on the 2nd screen. If so, you can move it to prior screen.

I should upgrade the V1 or maybe get a Uniden R3
Uniden revealed their new R7 at the CES convention this week. R7 will have Arrows along with automatic K band filtering. V1 is now junk

Default Thanks nsd911

My 2015 911 doesn’t have CarPlay, but you just helped me fix the 17 F 150 😉

A month or so back, I hadn’t driven the GT3 in almost two weeks so I sneak out early one morning (before wife and baby are awake) and just go for a drive up the toll road to warm the engine. Almost zero cars out Sunday morning. I U-turn and head back down the toll road heading the other direction and crack it open on the on-ramp and get up to 120+ quick. I get a police alert on waze but I see nothing. I slow down to 65 or so to be safe and behind me an Audi is in the fast lane doing 90+mph. I hit my brake lights at him a few times and he just blows right by me.

About a quarter mile up the road, my V1 gets a laser hit. It was a state trooper under an overpass in the shadows BEHIND a concrete barricade. Almost impossible to see him until it’s too late. He is hanging out his door with the laser gun. He hops in and takes off after the Audi.

Waze saved me a BIG ticket and I’m so happy I used it. I didn’t need Nav directions anywhere as I was just running up and down the tollway, so I just had the app open. I don’t do that every time, but I definitely do now especially if I think I’m going to drive enthusiastically. Thank you to the Wazer who dimed the Trooper.
The only ticket I have gotten in the past year, was when I didn't have Waze on in the background and when I had turned my V1 down from the night before. Sadly that one day, was when I decided to open up the Turbo after getting a new tune file. On the cross country drive from Austin where I bought the car, to NC where I am stationed, I probably dodged at least 10 tickets in that 3 day span.

Love Waze...

Sure wish it worked with Android Auto in the GT3....almost makes me want to go back to Apple just for that.

Here is the link for the vendor our members are purchasing the CarPlay Kit. Nick is your contact and is also a member of Rennlist. I will also provide his email address. Log on to the website and review the PCM requirements required to add the kit. Refer to the attachment and review [The Factsheet] which will breakdown the requirement, costs and the capability of adding a backup camera too. A number of members have gone in as a group buy by contact Nick to receive a discount. Reach out to him to see if he’s willing to offer a group buy discount.

I love Waze as well, but have you guys noticed how the volume of Waze is so much louder than everything else? Can be very shocking if you have your music turned up.

I can't seem to adjust the volume on that. Apple/Google maps sounds fine.
