you should have a cig lighter in the passenger footwell.

thanks for quick reply
I found it ,
I researched the topic and it seems there is no definite consensus on where to connect tender ... directly to battery or through 12 v
on my previous GT cars ... I had cig lighter and it worked fine on GT3 and GT3RS, but it did not work on my 981 Spyder Battery tender kept shutting off
so this is why I was considering direct connection to battery
will keep an eye on it

I use a Deltran battery tender and added a quick disconnect directly to the battery. Works well for me.

Ctek and leave the trunk popped for easy access to the battery if it becomes necessary.

Same - works on my GT3 cig lighter, but did not work on my Spyder cig lighter. Your Porsche service center can give the Spyder an update so it will also work.

Another Ctek - MXS 5.0 working a charm through cigarette lighter adapter, I believe this is the "newest" version available having done a lot of research, but honestly seems they all work.

I got the CTEK MXS 5.0 also, but it looks like the CTEK 7002 has the advantage of being able to use outdoors and for cold weather, as well as having a supply function, which can power the electronics if the battery is removed. Anyone know of any other advantages of the 7002 over the MXS 5.0?

CTEK MXS 5.0 here too. Works perfectly in the cigarette lighter.

Sames but I plug mine in the socket on passenger side under dash. That should be fine too.

I’ve tried them all and at points in time have had a half dozen motorcycles and a couple of cars on tenders, and the best by a wide margin are Deltran Battery Tenders. CTek makes the chargers for the Ferraris I sell and their failure rate is ridiculously bad. YMMV.

Does it come with the adapter for the socket in footwell or do you have to buy that separately?
Thanks!
