.2 GT3 VS .2 GT3RS

My brother picked up the .2 GT3 this past weekend in manual and I couldn't stop thinking about how great it drove. How visceral it was.

So I began to search these forums about owner comparisons between the .2 GT3 and the .2 GT3RS but really couldn't find anything. Is there a thread I am missing or the search function is not coming up with?

The simple question is, what are the driving characteristic differences if both were PDK between the .2 GT3 and the .2 GT3 RS?

What are the differences between the .1 GT3RS and .2 GT3RS from a driving experience? I see the price for the .1 RS has come down to similar levels to buy a .2 GT3.

I have been offered a GT3RS at MSRP from a dealership I have bought many of vehicles from. I would probably trade in my 2017 R8 in doing so...

Thanks all for the help.

I have owned a 991.2 gt3 and now have a 991.2 GT3 RS. biggest difference is the manual vs pdk. if you want pdk, then go with the RS. Also, I have noticed less sound insulation in RS. Havent taken the GT3 RS on track yet, need another 1k miles to break in

I have a 2018 GT3 in Manual and I love it. It is great on the track as well. I am getting a 2019 RS in 3 weeks. I usually just keep the RS, but I cannot get rid of the Manual GT3. I will write back with differences/similarities and opinions.

Having owned both .2 GT3 and .2 GT3 RS for a while (kept the latter), they are quite close performance wise but actually quite different in driving feel. In sport/ race the 3 RS is even more precise and scalpel precise. For weekend driving, the GT3 is a bit more comfortable and compliant. More relaxed on motorway. But when you push, it is a true Porsche GT! No doubt! And I wouldn’t be able to even get close to it’s linit. The GT3 is race looking but in a more subtle way obviously which sometimes is cool. But overall I’d say when you have a 3 RS, though a bit more compromised than the 3, you still feel you have 90 percent of what makes the 3 a strong road car. However, how amazing the GT3 is, when you own both, you can’t help but think it can’t touch the RS as a race/ sport car. I think it is really the manual that would make me swing towards GT3. But my experience of both was PDK. So RS won! For manual, but it is probably just a dream for me... the Speedster with its open roof would be my manual GT😁❤️!

You don't think the gearing or steering ratio is setup any different? Suspension?

Never surrender this manual :) - having both would be Surreal

Suspension for sure. RS will be stiffer.

The bigger wheels would also make a difference in how it may feel

Also - if you can get a .2 GT3RS at MSRP you should trade your R8

Manual for the win!

Turbo S 991.1 was even with 991.1 GT3 RS at 1:13.6, so assume 991.2 TTS would be equal to new 991.2 GT3 RS.......have to research that one.....

Funny...I didn't think this thread involved the Turbo S.
You should research that in the turbo section

Lots of great crossover Porsche information on TT/TTSs and GT cars on different sections of the website, especially since the GT2RS is turbo charged now.....and for that matter throughout Rennlist and Renntech sites..........having owned 5 Porsches in my time.....I go all over the site for information and people offer information up readily........
