Default 4.0 RS motor designations

Gent's,

If a MA176 motor was replaced with a MA1 under warranty. Are there any differences in the motor? Is it a motor with any generational changes that reflect an upgrade from the original motor with the issue? Or is it essentially another exact copy of the engine that was replaced? Thanks in advance..

I believe the A176 is just the engine model number. You’d need to look at engine serial number to know if there were updates to the cams or lifters.
