Yikes!!! New 2019 California Auto Exhaust Laws

A friend in California sent me this link ref California’s revised 2019 auto-exhaust laws... He’s hearing the fine is as much as $1000.00 and potentially a full inspection of the car for non-CARB parts/mods before being able to return to the road. I had not seen this posted and thought it may be of interest to some of you. Here in NC, I’ve not heard of this as a legislative topic.

The embedded picture of the GT3 at Laguna Seca was interesting....reminds me of the 19 ZR1 at the Ring.

glad my GT3 isn’t registered in CA. Love many things about CA, but not the blue state over regulation of everything under the sun.

Looks like Harley owners are screwed.

There aren't a lot of Porsches tooling around the Antelope Valley... except on their way to WSIR.

sechsgang 01-07-2019 09:36 PM

Yeah that's a bit ridiculous.

Gotta love CA. Death by a thousand cuts. People will b*tch and complain, then forget about it. Next year, they will come up with a new crazy law. Never ends. But hey, nice weather.

I lived in SoCal for 4 years late 80’s early 90’s....it was nice, I had fun but had to move....I do miss In n Out Burger and the great Mexican food and donut shops....I visit for work once a year...that’s enough.

Motorcycles are probably the biggest offenders next to import cars with fart cans

And never pulled over or cited, in my experience.

Yeah, motorcycles seem to get a pass on noise.

Good luck. I think the gas tax that was shoved down had millions of sigs. It is still going on and not repealed. Way too few car people vs the rest of the loon balls. CA will be the first all electric state.

I hear Morrison has a new ordinance for loud exhausts as well...sadly we aren’t too far behind.
