Buc ee's Fuel Stations Carry 92 octane Ethanol Free Gas Houston area
Just a heads up for you guys/galsin the Houston area. Buc ee's now carries premium 92 octane ethanol free fuel at their Waller County store. I checked Katy and while they carry ethanol free fuel they don't have the premium 92 octane there. I have not looked into the others as these are the two closest to me (I'm in town Memorial). Buc ees is now the largest fuel retailer in the US and if you have ever been to one, they are amazing and they sell truck load after truck load of fresh fuel. They have over 100 pumps and a 52,000 sf store at this one location in Waller TX alone. I filled up six 5-gallon race cans while I was there last weekend. I have not seen premium high octane zero ethanol fuel in Texas before. I have no connection to Buc ee's whatsoever and this is only a friendly heads up. if you don't care no need to comment. if you love ethanol, just love it and no need to comment. If you hate Buc ee's OK. Not trying to start a fuel brand debate or anything. Just FYI. Happy New Year. |

Nice, one of those is right own the street from my house.
I need to do more research on the benefits though, haven't read much about it. I've always used Shell, or more recently, Costco gas at 93 octane. Wondering if there's real data showing 92 pure gas is better than 93 E10. |

I would think it is not running rich enough to optimize for E10, as that would negatively impact the fuel consumption figures (which are quite important these days). Ethanol is bad for your fuel system especially if your car sits. Farmers who grow corn for ethanol claim that technology has made it friendly to fuel systems but the coal industry also claims that it has made burning coal good for the air. Beyond that the energy density of hydrocarbon based fuels is far higher than fuels made from what should end up as tortillas. So if you can get high(er) octain fuel that is sans ethanol.... buy it. |

took the touring out for a rip out to Truth bbq in Breham, TX today only to find a sign on the front door saying it’s closed for the holidays lol.... luckily the purpose of the trip was more for the ride than it was for the bbq. on 290 east there’s a huge buc ee’s billboard advertising for ethanol free gas, love it. back when i was living in upstate NY some Stewart’s stations had ethanol free 91-92 octane (premium cbob with no ethanol blended into it) and it was amazing how much more of a range each tank got vs 10% ethanol blend. thanks for the the heads up @TexasPorschelover .... let me know when you’re up for some touring in the tourings! |
