It was a battle but they finally relented (with a charge).
Yes, it has been done by multiple dealers.

Very cool - was this done at no charge, I assume?

Yes. Warranty work.

I'd have a bigger objection if the black wart was on the roof of my Touring. On the rear deck, I don't particularly care, since it sort of blends with the other bits. Still, I dislike satellite radio and wish Porsche would make it an option. How much is XM paying Porsche to keep it on the cars? Doesn't Porsche realize enough margin as it is?

It would blend in better if it wasn’t a glossy black...

I wonder how many gt3 / 3RS / 2RS actually subscribe and enjoy XM in their cars. I literally never turn the radio on and I don't think I'm in the minority.

Painted wart was a $830 (might be off by few bucks) CXX option on top of the $12,830.00 PTS. Pretty insulting consider paying almost 13k for PTS already. Having said that I would think the dealers who claimed warranty on it did a solid to the owners. Or, Porsche caught it after few claimed warranty because during the initial ordering process it wasn't available as an option.

update to my original question.

I spoke with Moe at Glistening Perfection, who is doing my PPF/tint and he's painted roof warts for several GT customers with PTS. Apparently, there is an empty space between the roof liner and the roof of the car so for me he will remove the wart from the roof, but keep it attached to the wire (so error message is unlikely), fasten the roof wart in place in that empty space, and then plug the hole, paint it, and then PPF the roof for extra protection for this modified area.

Excited to see how it turns out.

Drifting,

What do you plan to use to plug the hole?

I'm not sure what he's going to use.

Interesting... Since your wart is on the back of the roof rather than the back of the car (as it is in the Touring), a well done modification may be less noticeable (and perhaps imperceptible) to the uninitiated eye.

I’d be interested in getting a carbon fiber wart piece replacement for my GT Silver with WP. Even if it’s fake CF... just so there is no interference for the SAT antenna.

the RS is so loud with GRP exhaust the stereo is really pointless 95% of the time. My daughter wanted to listen to Christmas music and I could barely tell which song was playing lol!!
