That's interesting! Can you PM me or post here your accepted build sheet. Please delete personal information and would show that to my brother so he can share with dealer. I am in USA and you are in Canada so I think that's where the difference is.

Technically speaking we were informed magnesium may be available on certain continents which doesn't make sense.

This one like the rims from GT2RS, correct? The configurator shows it but when dealer enters the order, it is NOT accepted.

Just amazing! So what is the worldwide estimate for 991.2 GT3 RS production?

Congrats to you that you were able to secure the magnesium rims for your build. Do you mean that your car is European Delivery (ED)? My brother is expecting completion this April and delivered here USA midwest.
Please advise if you are doing ED.

I have the same situation - early March build, 808WP, mag wheels, but normal delivery. The window was opening and closing, so it was a trial and error thing.

These are the most current estimates but if they extend production beyond May I would expect these numbers to slightly increase.

2019 Speedster - 1,948 / 685
2019 GT3RS - 4,900 / 1,730
18/19 GT2RS - 3,600 / 1,250
18/19 GT3 - 9,502 / 3,350
2016 911R - 991 / 323
2016 GT3RS - 4,600 / 1,529
14-16 GT3 - 6,459 / 2,133

991 GT = ~32k WW est. / ~11 NA est

Congrats to you. You guys are very lucky to get those magnesium wheels!

Will go back to dealer and ask to try again then.

another data point.... Eric at Supreme Power (largest BBS dealer in US) told me the BBS/Manthey WEC magnesium wheel program is currently on hold. Maybe to focus on the demand from Porsche...??
either way...I want these wheels badly (first-world problem!).....and cant get them!
and I’m NOT paying $37k for them from Porsche.

Just back into the Porsche world. Here in the SF Bay area there were recently only 2 GT2 RSs for sale. A GT Silver with Blk/Red interior and mag wheels and a Black one with Black interior without mag wheels. I bought the GT Silver one and yes the ADMs have come way down. The black one can be had for 60-85k over. That's it only 1 now. There are a few 2019's inbound. 1 black and 2 whites, none with mag wheels. I also called around the country looking for a GT2 RS and during that process several cars sold. In my opinion demand is definitely keeping pace with supply now that ADMs have softened.

As GT3RS-Fan1 has stated I was also told that any 2019 that is ordered with the mag wheels will be kicked out of the order system. You can order the WP but not the mag wheels.

Today is the "Porsche First Preview" event at the Chicago Car Show week. I saw the Sales Manager at my dealer, and he asks if I read his email. I said not yet. He informed me at the event that as of February 4, Porsche opened the availability of magnesium rims here in USA for the 991.2 GT3RS configuration. If you guys are wanting this magnesium rims, first thing tomorrow morning call your dealer and if your build is not yet locked, to process the option for magnesium rims. My brother's 991.2 GT3RS just got locked today fortunately V210 and very happy to get the exposed carbon fiber (808) and the magnesium rims, among other options selected.

The Chicago Car Show is the biggest consumer event here in the Midwest. To my surprise for the first time, NO BMW, NO Mercedes Benz display. I asked why? BMW and Mercedes Benz felt like they are not getting their ROI by joining the Chicago Car Show.

As I understand it the BBS wheels are not the same cosmetically as the wheels that are provided by Porsche. Has that changed?

This is correct. Top photo are the OEM wheels. Bottom photo are the aftermarket wheels. Both manufactured by BBS of course. Nearly the same however the edge of the pokes are where the largest difference is - https://rennlist.com/forums/991-gt3-...-boutique.html
