Default GT3 TOURING BADGE DELETE

Has anyone tried to remove the GT3 Touring badge that sits on the engine lid? Is it possible? Does it leave any indentation? Thanks.

There is an indentation so you would have to replace it with something.

Back when they first came on the configurator, it would let you select model designation delete and I got all excited to have no badge but then they figured out that was not available.

That delete option is for the winged GT3 and not the Touring.

correct. It just removes “GT3” below PORSCHE. All tourings are already set up that way.

That silly badge diminishes the look of that cool old-school looking grille. Too bad they had to design it with the indentation. But it won't stop me from trying when I get mine in a few months...

Maybe one of these instead (although it implies carbs and air-cooling fan)?

Or these guys also make a 4.0 in the old style:

I had the lid removed and disassembled as far as I could, ended up with a lot of pieces on the work bench... I found that the badge is riveted in place and even though it is possible to continue, it would be irreversible from that point. And since I can't see how the indent looks I decided to stop there and put it all back together. I am now trying this:

which is also not ideal, since the letters are elevated and can be seen through the vinyl...

If anyone removes the badge completely, please post pics so that cowards like me can decide...

is the solution an entirely new grill cover plate? can't imagine it would be that expensive to produce.

Drill out the rivet
Very easy to reinstall

I should have taken pictures during the disassy, I'm not sure it will be so easy... I am happily proven wrong if someone decides to go further than I did.
