Has anyone tried to source the shift paddles from the Weissach steering wheel?

I think these would be a great option especially for those that spec'd the carbon fiber interior trim on a GT3. I haven't contacted Suncoast yet to inquire but will after the holiday.

Thumbs up

I recommend you look into buying JCR Extended Carbon Shift Paddles instead. Not only are they more functional with the extended length (this is my biggest gripe with the OEM shift paddles being a tat too short), it will definitely be cheaper than buying the OEM WP paddle shifters.

See the length difference, Jonny makes them in both carbon and billet aluminium (with an unlimited array of finishes, colors) to your desire. (I don't work for JCR, I just love his products and honest ethical way of conducting business)

JCR Extended Shift Paddle vs OEM Shift Paddle.

This is how our shift paddles should have come from Porsche!

I've seen these but feel they may be a bit too long. A POV picture made it look like they block some of the gauges on the cluster.

agree those look too long.

I didn’t think the paddles needed more length anyway. I like your idea of doing the same paddles as the weissach steering wheel. They look great, and would particularly compliment a CF interior (which my car has)

Macarbon has the 918 OEM parts ... I got a set from them, and enjoyed them on my .1 GT3RS. Easy to install, or remove when selling.

PS - Although the instructions offer a way to remove just the levers, I just installed the complete part lever+switch ; I couldn't detect any difference in throw distance. Still very short and direct.

Spoke to Suncoast this morning and was told there are no visible part numbers for just the paddles, that only the Weissach steering wheel is indicated as a single part. Obviously Porsche has there own internal numbers but I'm not optimistic about being able to source these now.

@krell ... If you just want the paddles, the Porsche OEM parts for the 918 are the ones available from Macarbon, as above ...

Last edited by ezinternet; 12-26-2018 at 01:40 PM. Reason: Corrected, as @krell pointed out, there are differences between 918 and Weissach parts

Indeed, but they're a little longer than what's on the steering wheel above plus the look is a little different. Not sure if it's enough to make a difference but want to exhaust options to source these before moving on.

@krell - I sit corrected, didn't register the subtle difference in the shape of back-side shaft and ribbing/support. Thanks!

Documenting the thread for future historians

With the carbon fiber thread on the 2RS elsewhere on the forum I stumbled upon DB Carbon's offering.

Link to the product page.
