Center lock tool - use?
Any idea what this is used for? And, given the complexity of the machining, why is is $100 less than the "other" alignment tool available here on RL? Thanks.

This is not an alignment tool. All this does is ensure the locking mechanism is engaged. You don't need it as the car comes with a little device to do that.
Suncoast has a very affordable alignment tool that has worked great for me.

Thanks - looks like ALU for the same price as the Delrin one here on RL.

To align the center pin get the cheapest socket that fits. I keep one as a spare with the jack pads and alignment tool.
I can't remember the size.
Edi: It's a 9/16" hex drive or 15 mm. As noted below a 1/2" extension works too. I like the hex drive socket because it takes up less space.
