So much for that idea.

Good idea, but, sadly, don’t this will work. I tried to pull this off for about a year before my car got here, tried to get the Australian company to ship one, to find a fabricator, made no progress. Ended up going with a bbi cage, which looks awesome. Good luck.

I am with you on the harness bar idea. I have the GMG Rollbar on my .2 and had one in my .1. While I like the Rollbar and it looks cool, it is really just a place to mount the 6 pts.

It doesn’ Make a lot of sense to add all of that weight just to have a way to mount the 6 pts. From my understanding, these cars don’t need a lot of rollover protection. I would rather have a lightweight harness bar for DD and light to moderate track duty or either go full cage that could be removed for resale for heavier track use.

Neither are available and I think both present a good opportunity for someone to develop. All of the full cages that I have seen for the GT3 do permanent damage to the interior. While a removable cage with side impact protection would not be as strong as a Motorsports cage, it would offer a lot more protection than a typical Rollbar

I agree. Seems like a solution could be developed and sold for half the price of what harness bars are out there now.

I wanted a simple harness only bar for a while so today I put a design on CAD. I will visit a shop next week to see what the cost will be. I don’t want any carpet cutting and liked the Australian design but they wouldn’t ship to the US. I think due to litigation concerns the race shops don’t want to make them? Only guessing here. I figure if I make it I can only sue myself.

Brey-Krause will fabricate one. They just need to borrow a GT3. I had contacted them when I got my 991.1, but ended up going with a half cage. They have a very cool trellis design.

I thought there was a safe way to mount the shoulder harness to the lower back part of the carbon bucket seat. I have a harness bar in my GT4 but if I buy the next gen car, I'd prefer the cleaner look of no harness bar for the limited track events I would attend.

I believe it was these guys:
http://autohaushamilton.com.au/

But they didn't have a mold... only 'made to fit'... with customer's car.

Best Regards,
Dave

Ah - okay. They want to see the car to sell you one?
