4 Way Seats vs Adaptive 18 Way Seats

I love the 18 ways in my GTS and ordered the same in my Touring. I'm sure the 4 ways are similarly comfortable, just a little less adjustable. I do think the diving position of the LWBs is fine and they were perfectly comfortable to me, but I have no desire to have them in an everyday car. Just too tough getting in and out. And it would bother me to not have access to the area behind the seats (although I'll admittedly rarely need it).

+1 on my rationale for ordering 18w seats over LWB.
Being 6'5", 215lbs and old as dirt.... LWB are simply impractical.

I preferred the 4 ways in my Carrera over the 18 ways in my first Spyder. Easier to get comfortable in for me and I loved the manual fore/aft adjustment. It made it quick and easy to slide the seat back and forward getting in and out of the car. I've owned all the seats and, for me and my body, I rank them: LWBS > 4 ways >18 ways > 14 ways.
I could probably live with any of the first three, but the 14 ways just did not fit my body at all.

I had 4 ways in my first 15 GT3 and liked them, folding buckets in my 10 GT3 and was neutral, sport buckets in my GT4 and newly acquired 15 GT3. I like the sport buckets. I have no problems driving from Cincinnati round trip to the Smokies events. If I had no plans to track the car I'd get 4 ways.

Love the way the LWBs look in my car, and the seating position is fine for short drives, but I just drove a friend's new GT3 with 18-ways and found them far more comfortable. Getting in and out of the LWBs is a pain and I have matching towels folded over the outside edge of each seat to keep the leather looking nice and the stitches from ripping out. The lack of lumbar support and adjustable backrest in LWBs is also an issue. I'd probably order my car next time with the 18-ways instead of LWBs unless I was tracking the car on a regular basis.

one advantage of the 18 over the 4 for me , is when on the grid heading out on track : i power the seat fully aft and upright tipped back as well , then grab the seat belt
with my right hand pull all the slack out getting it snug against my body then holding the tension-er locked so the belt will not pay out with my right hand , with left hand power seat back vertical and base forward anchoring myself in the seat , after a few laps typically tweak the seat forward more still , , buckets weren't an option on early .1's , otherwise the 18 plenty comfortable coming from 14 in previous P car .

remember the 18 ways are appro 20bls heavier than the 4 ways in total.
4 ways also sit 1.2 inches lower than the 18 ways, so if you are tall and/or plan to wear a helmet, something to consider.
except for people with severe back problems, a higher percentage of drivers fit comfortably in the 4 ways vs the 18 ways, which don't fit medium-larger men as well as 4 ways.
Finally if you can, ,I would try to find local 991 GT car owner who will let you sit in their seats so you can decide for yourself.

Had 18 ways and they were heaven on the 3-5hrs drive to the track! I’m sure 4 ways aren’t bad either! Installed race seats and the drive to and from the track isn’t as comfy...LOL

A midwest dealer I was at last week - husband and wife PTS GT2RSs both had 18 ways. 2018 GT3RS brand new was available with LWBs - owner could not get along with the LWBs so they let him order another GT3RS with 18 ways. My 2009 C4s had 18 ways and I liked em a lot as did the better looking half. I put 562 miles in 7.4 hours in a GT3 last Saturday with one stop - you guessed it, 18 ways - and I used multiple different settings/adjustments, pretty radically different settings, during the drive, and my temperamental back was overall very happy with the trip.
I've sat in many 4 ways and could be happy with them, particularly on a low/no option build. LWBs I believe would give me a pretty bad case of buyer's regret for how I use the car. I have race cars so don't need the GT3 to have rock hard minimally adjustable seats.
