Default Squeaking Ceramic Brakes

So, my GT3's ceramic composite brakes squeak every time I brake. None of my other Porsche cars with ceramics do so. When I asked my service adviser, he told me that this was normal on all GT cars. Now, I'm wondering if he is telling the truth or not. Could anyone else please let me know. Thank you in advance.

All my Porsche brakes have squeaked but less over time and some more than others.

My .2 has PCCBs and they squeak but not for a couple weeks after a wash for some reason. When they start squeaking I actually know it is time for a wash.

My 991.1 GT3's PCCB brakes squealed for about the first 2000 miles and then slowly faded. My GT4 with PCCB's never squealed. I just picked up another 991.1 GT3 with PCCB's and the brakes don't squeal. I think it's a crap shoot.

I've never had ceramics.

However, was told by a sales guy at a Porsche dealer that the way their dealership fixes the squeak on ceramics is to to drive the car hard and slam on the brakes a few times.

95% of the time mine dont squeek at all.

There was a day where they were squeeking all day. Car just needed a wash. After wash everything was fine.
I think its a build up of pad dust that will make them squeek.

NOTHING like 488 Ferrari.
I hired one for a couple of weeks when i went to the US and man, that car squeeked non stop. And it was pretty much brand new. Very low KMS.

My Panny Turbo has carbons and never squeeks

Just give your wheels a good wash (dont use wheel cleaner) just soapy water etc.
Get in there in wheel barrels, with a good detailing brush etc.

Let dry. I use a air compressor to blow water out etc.
Take for a bit of a drive should be ok.

Though i will say when the car was new, the brakes were really rubbish. It was only after i did a few high speed braking that the brakes really bedded in.

Just took delivery of a Touring with ceramics a couple of weeks ago. Didn't squeak for the first 100 or so miles, but has been intermittent for the past 200 miles. Guess it's time for a wash, but with satin platinum finish and no brake dust, it's impossible to tell.

Actually that is true! If you drive them hard for a bit squeak should go away. Mine only squeak after a traffic jam of driving slow. They need a good thrashing!

Default Squeaking ceramics

When they start to squeak between washes I just literally get the hose and spray them off with water in the driveway. No squeaking for a few hundred miles. Of course when I do a wash I’ll get the same effect.

How could Porsche SA’s not know to tell new buyers this? It is such a simple and effective way to deal with squeaking ceramic brakes!

My Touring is the first 911 with ceramics that squeak loud enough to turn heads. It’s getting worse after 600 miles. My other cars have PCCBs and NEVER squeak. I’ll wash it tomorrow and try some hard braking this weekend.

I’m not buying the “it’s normal.” If it was normal, then my cars that don’t squeak are abnormal?
