December Euro Delivery in a GT3RS
Hi All, I take off for Germany tomorrow morning to receive my 3RS. I can’t wait! Any recommendations are appreciated.
The build:
lizard green exterior and interior (leather)
steel brakes
front lift kit
extended tank
bose
xenon lights
platinum wheels
black door handles
all the freebies
The plan (keep in mind my wife is not keen on cars and motor sports unfortunately):
Day 1- Vancouver to Frankfurt overnight flight.
Day 2- arrive in Frankfurt, tour the city.
Day 3- train to Stuttgart. Mercedes museum.
Day 4- delivery day in zuffenhausen. Factory and museum tour. Pick the wife up in Frankfurt. Hit Strasbourg en route to Alsace.
Day 5- off to Berlin via recommended Berlin tour from Porsche.
Day 5- tour Berlin.
Day 6- return down to Frankfurt with a run through Black Forest
Day 7- drop off in Stuttgart. Fly out.
So any driving routes recommended around this tour are much appreciated. Thanks!

I live in Frankfurt. If you will be here with the car, try driving to Taunus (small hill/mountain of Frankfurt). But you definitely need winter tyres. The peak is called Feldberg and the roads are nice. I actually live there. Ping me if you wanna meet and have a coffee. My GT3 and GT4 are in winter sleep, but I can join with my DD.
Other than that, I suggest Heidelberg (~100 km south of Frankfurt) and Rüdesheim. Both are touristic places, hence open at Sundays. In Rüdesheim try their coffee with Asbach Weinbrandt (German brandy).

If it is snowing yes, or freshly snowed. Then i would not recommend if you are not familiar with winter driving.
If it is not snowing, generally roads are very well cleaned up.

Frankfurt winters are mild generally. So likelihood to have a very snowy winter is low.
enjoy your visit

if you go the roads to Triberg were great
Just driving through the forest is nice also
we drove mostly in Bavaria, Austria north of the Alps and Czechia
Snow tires were a must, if them you have to drop the car back at the factory

Driving tours are tough, it’s a balance between driving too much and not enough. Shorten the time and it’s harder so don’t burn yourself out with too much driving. I would think about trying to get some winter/christmas atmosphere along the romantic road with maybe short drives to neighboring towns. This gives you some flexibility if the weather turns nasty you can just stay in. Also each town has a certain charm and unique things to do and visit.
Just a thought. Have fun!!
