Default OpenTrack payout on totaled GT3

Many of you saw the post about my Road Atlanta incident and asked that I report back on my experience with OpenTrack. Thankfully, it was a story with a good ending. The car was declared a total loss and I received my full insured amount of 175k, less the 5% deductible. It took about a month, start to finish, for the process to play out. Even though it seemed pretty clear I would get the full amount, I am relieved to have closure going into the holidays. I'd highly recommend OpenTrack based on my experience over the past few years.

If anyone is interested, I have some parts that I had replaced on the car that I will be selling, along with some track related items. I'll eventually post in the marketplace, but I first have to get the parts back from my race shop so I can take pics. If you are in the Atlanta area and are interested in a local pickup for any of these, send me a PM. I've got the OEM CCB's and rotors, the OEM standard wheels, the center lock torque wrench, an Antigravity Lithium Ion RS-30 battery, and a Solo2 DL and Smartcam2 HD setup. Hoping to take some of the sting out of the additional investments I had made in the car!

Sounds like could have been much worse!
You don't mind me asking, what is typical cost of track insurance for 1 day for gt3?

Wow, that is painful to look at. Glad to hear this turned out as expected before the holidays.

Glad you are safe, and that everything worked out for you. Good to know that Open Track stood by you as well! A month given the circumstances seems quite reasonable. I use them too, so this is very reassuring.

I would be interested in the Solo2 and Smartycam. PM me your number and I’ll get with you this week on it.

great to hear about Open Track. I use them for my vehicles, I have the 12 month unlimited policy which makes sense given I track a lot. Was curious to hear an actual story about how things turn out in a situation like yours.. thanks for posting, have good holidays.

depends on your insured amount and percentage deductible chosen.

but typically $450-550 for the day.

some track insurance companies will only insure per event (be it 2 or 3 days). i've paid 550-650 for an event weekend.

to the OP: i'm glad that the process seem fairly straightforward. I wonder if this utilization will impact future premiums or insurance eligibility going forward.

Damn that's a terrible picture. Looks like the car was bleeding at the bottom of the pic lol.
