My 991.1rs was dumb reliable, hell of a car and I miss the heck out of it. I didn't replace it with a .2, didn't think it was remotely worth with the relatively minor changes to the car and given that it was mainly a road car...I went with a Macca 600lt (Im not a resale hound) and have been having an insane blast with it!
either way Porsche will stand behind the issue. Now u all got me thinking about a .1RS. This place is a bad influence. A really great buy now that the new shiny one is out and it’s no longer the latest gotta have it for C&C 😇.

Totally agree!!!
My 996 GT3 leaked oil, RMS. Broken transmission in less than 2,000 miles with 0 track miles. 3 diffs until I switched to a Cup diff.
My 997 GT3 RS got the engine replaced, bad crankcase. Multiple RMS leaks. 2 diffs
I skipped the 7.2 3RS, but those wore diffs, short life clutches, they did better than old the GT3s before them, but they also had runaway flying wheels.
My .1 3RS, oil changes, changed the spark plugs in advanced, it recorded misfires because I ran out of fuel (zero fuel) and still was able to start it and get it to the paddock. Zero problems, most reliable car I ever had, and I'm missing it already.
My .2 3RS feels slow, (check your pulse and if fine take car to dealer, clearly another .2 4.0 issue; quiet (see previous advice. They didn't give you the thnner carpet or new Titanium center bypass), steering wheel is over assisted (See previous advice. Steering on my .2RS is just as sharp as .1RS) , it is a little too stiff (Yup, you got the correct stiffer springs and ball jointed suspension. You did know the .2 RS basically has Cup suspension right which means "stiffer" right?), I'm having doubts of this car keeping up with my .1 3RS, have lots of data from my .1 3RS and my modified .1 Turbo S, so I'll see (you are aware it has superior track suspension, quicker PDK programing and more hp and tq right?. Also tests show .2RS sets noticeably faster lap times then .1RS so any failure to exceed your .1RS times may rest with the pilot). So far, reliable under break-in (thank goodness for the small things anyway).

u worry too much
every porsche variant had problems
some blow up
some catch fire
it's ok
it will get fixed
YOU prolly have more issues
stroke
heart attack
bad joins
kidney issues
prostate
ED (that' is not euro delivery)
I used to worry...
now I have more problems than my cars
let it go
it's going to be fine

Fact is that most RS are seating in garages, and very few get tracked or really used like the GT3s. Few personal experiences are just that, and cannot be generalized. If there is a problem with the.1 RS, it won’t be known for some time, and may be never.
Many 991.2 GT3s have been and are being used heavily, likely with combined more miles driven on street and track than the .1 RS. If there is a real issue with the .2, we should find out soon.
